Pro-skippers, politeness will get you further

I agree it is an issue. However, I view it differently from many others. If I am running a story mode of the instance I accept the fact that people want to watch the cutscenes. However, when I'm in a hard-mode I do expect people to skip them. But this is based on my assumption that if you're in the hard mode you've already ran it in story mode. So there is no need to see it again, instead of holding up a group run that could be completed rather quickly. Watching all the cutscenes because of 1 member drastically changes the time it takes to complete these instances...I just want to get the instances done with and continue on with something else.

That said, I always state when a cutscene starts "If you've seen this already please start spamming spacebar"..

The easiest solution is to ask people kindly at the beginning if everyone will spacebar. If not, either leave the group or get over it. I usually just watch tv in the situations that I want to skip and others do not.
If you're in a hardmode, the expectation people will have is that you've seen the stories before. If you want to see the stories, queue for story mode rather than hard mode.

Otherwise you are being the rude, inconsiderate player. Odd man out and all.

STORY mode.

STORY.

I thought that was a fantastic idea and would love to see it installed immediately.
It's already in.

Coincedentially it's often the same players that don't know the encounters and don't tell you so, which is rather unpleasant as well, adding up to a fowl mood and politeness going out the window.
You and I both know that speaking up about either has a chance of getting you kicked. Assuming people know it doesnt help anyone. It takes two seconds to type up a one liner explaining most fights easily. I do it all the time or at least ask "everyone know this one?" Its the idiot DPS who jumps in before me (the Tank) that pisses me off.

I have no regard or concern for little ADD Timmy and his need to finish in ten minutes. That WoW reject mentality needs to die immidiately. Youre in a group with other rabdom players you most likely dont know with different skills, needs, speeds, and playstyles. Help each other out, play as a team or find other ADD teamates to play how you want.

If it's Black Talon hard mode, you're the one being rude for not skipping. How many times have we all seen those same conversations? Just smash the spacebar and let it go, man.
/Thread.

In all honesty, bioware should have added a switch to allow people the ability to que for groups who are watching vs not watching cut scenes. Then when you can't get the group for the selection you want, you can switch over or toggle both.

How often and how many times can you read the same book or watch the same TV show? Pick your favorite TV show, and your favorite episode of it. Now watch it once every day and don't fast-forward through the commercials.

Fun, isn't it? /sarcasm

Apparently it's hard for some people to understand the concept of enjoying the story AND getting something "tangible" for their time. If hardmode were intended to be catered to the spacebarers, the cutscenes wouldn't even be there. Seriously, for a lot of people, it's not really viable to do it on the way up, and not worth it to solo at high level. If you queue through the group finder, be prepared to deal with anything and everything. If you want to spacebar, premake a group and queue up. Guilds are lovely for that, or are you so antisocial that you don't have a guild and don't feel like building a group, just want to force random people to play your way?

I'm quite social and an officer in my guild, thank you.

Watching the same story over and over again is NOT being social. If you think it is, maybe you need to rethink things.

Further, if in a group of four only one player wants to watch the stories, then that player is in the vast minority and should, being a fine, upstanding, social person, comply with the desires of the rest of the group. As it is, said player can hold the group hostage by refusing to comply... or I suppose he could be vote-kicked.

You suggest skippers manually form groups. People who want to watch the cutscenes in hardmodes are clearly in the minority. Perhaps THEY should manually form groups.

I like to watch the cutscenes the first couple of runs, but then I don't mind if people want to skip it, as long as they're consistent. Nothing irks me more than skipping some cutscenes and then someone doesn't skip the next. Either skip them all or don't skip any. At least then I know that once the 20-minute cutscene in Black Talon (the one that runs when you reach the bridge) comes up, I can go make dinner or something instead.
If only I'd hit spacebar more often...

You sir, are wrong... on every level. What you are saying is the opposite of what the FP is designed for. The FP is designed with that content. Skipping is optional. You are wrong in the following ways:

Totally Wrong.
Recognizably Wrong.
Obviously Wrong.
Laughably Wrong
Ludicrously Wrong.
A Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack. Unless there are purples involved. Then it's totally OK.
