I watch the cutscenes. I enjoy watching them, and they're the only reason this game is different from other MMOs. I don't necessarily watch them EVERY time, but I would never be rude in asking someone to skip them.

So put me on ignore. I encourage it. I'd rather not waste my time on people who insist on skipping all the fun, and your queues will get slightly longer since I almost exclusively heal in the group finder.

Sadly I've seen this impatient and obnoxious attitude become pretty common when doing flashpoints, as if skipping is viewed as must-do and expected. A lot of people don't expect people to want to watch this stuff, even though BioWare put it there for us to watch. I for one really enjoy this dialogue and watch it when I can, and will continue to do so in flashpoints far more times than just one. These (very well done) cutscenes do represent part of the default game that everyone has paid for. Some people have actually not seen this stuff yet and should be given every chance to. "But its just Black Talon!!! Skip FFS". Doesn't matter what it is, if someone enjoys it, let them watch. You can wait 3 more minutes to finish the flashpoint.

So you guys out there in a hurry for some reason, other people are far more inclined to skip the story stuff for you if you're not being a *ick about it And for those who act like those two kids and wind up in a group with me, bring plenty of popcorn.
Yeah Ive seen this as well to a degree.
Luckly I only run hardmodes and ops with mostly (or all) guild formed groups so even if we do get one of these kids, they tend to calm down fast.

My suggestions is for you to leave.

Accept the cool down (its not that long) and find a better group of people!

Put the problem children on ignore and never group with them again.

I heard a suggestion today (we had a real issue child in our PUG hm malstrom Prison. Vanguard that tried to out wait everyone when they greeded and he would sneak a need in, regardless of class item. He scoped a set of jedi knight gloves fromt he sent in our group and tried again to steal the boots drop later on).

So talking with the sent afterwards he suggested that the group finder should be alined so you never get grouped with players on your ignore list.

I thought that was a fantastic idea and would love to see it installed immediately.

I know from pvp my ignore list (republic side, imp side seems to be much more team orientated for some reason. Rep side just screams childish nonsense liek "u sux" and "QQ" at each other it seems. Rarely ever hear that when I play my BH or inq.) is growing leaps and bounds as small minded internet tough guys mouth off over the safty of internet seclussion.

Just put them on ignore so I never aide them (or hear them) while in PVE doing assorted activities.

No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

Can't take seriously anyone who claims watching all the cutscenes takes only 3 minutes in BT.

In BT if you do things the slow way, it can easily take more than 90 minutes to complete the FP while it could be done in less than 15 minutes if you go for a fast run.
We are taking about huge amount of time wasted there.

And first of all, if you want to watch all the cutscenes in BT, you can GO SOLO THE STORYMODE, anyone level 17+ (and many people even lower than that) can just solo it, and then you can take all the time you want without bothering anyone else.

Just because you "enjoy" watching the cutscene does not give you the right to make the fp run unenjoyable for 3 other people. Stop being a selfish jerk. Why should your enjoyment take priority over the enjoyment of the 3 other people?

And do remember that this is just a game. That means some people may have real life jobs and families and so on. Making a FP run last more than an hour (not 3 minutes but an hour) longer than it would have to take, is a big deal and can cause real serious inconvenience to some people.

In most of the other flashpoints watching the cutscenes may be alright (if you aren't being a jerk about it and slowing it down just for the sake of slowing it) but if someone is not skipping in Black Talon, I would see vote to kick and ignore as perfectly good options.
Yeah its just a game... does'nt really merit all the attitude, overeaction... and mememememe, oooh wait isn't that what your post is promoting in a nutshell, but yep it's just a game.
Now try telling yourself that 10 times while the cutscenes are on... cos unless you wanna pay the other player (s) monthly sub you have zero right to tell anyone to do anything in any quest, raid, flashpoint or heroic. no matter what your personal circumstance dictates, maybe running a BT when you have limited time is just a bad idea from the start, allowing for eveyone else in group and all... if you wanna fast run then I would suggest getting into a static group or a guild run which share common attitudes and goals. On the otherhand if you dont have the friends or the guild to support your goals then by all means PUG, but remember the golden rule of pugging "ALWAYS EXPECT ... THE UNEXPECTED!!!"

Of course where you tell others to go solo it at lvl 17+ if they want to do the cutscenes then as a counter go solo it yourself for that all important speed run.

Now go and play nicely

I hate to say it this is a reflection on todays Society, allot of people are just plain rude these days, instant gratification and care nothing for the needs or wants of others, it is the all about me, which is really sad.
I have watched the decline of the mmo community over the last few years, I have never in my 14+ years of mmo play seen such rudness, personal attacks on other players the gaming company, anything really, we used to have some good smack talk, it was part of the game play but it was never as bad as what I see these days...
I dunno I just play and try to ignore those that think being rude is cool, they really don't know how bad it makes them look and I doubt they care.
Do not dwell in the past, do not not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

I love watching all the cutscenes every time. I'm just like that.

If the other members of the group agree that they want to skip and they ask everyone to do so in a normal, civilized tone, I do skip. If someone's a jerk, I don't care.

I found there aren't a lot of "spacebar" warriors though, not on my server, never really had a problem with the whole thing.

Sure i can, but i'm not required to. The fact that BT HM has cutscenes means that it's intended for people to watch them if the want. On the other hand, i realize that both BT and Esseles have a huge amount of cutscenes, so if i'm there and in the mood of watching them, i always warn group members beforehand. It's not the case for any other FP though, if i want to watch something i watch it without saying anything.

I have a different question. Why should enjoyment of 3 other people take priority over my enjoyment? I invest my time and money into this game to have fun myself, not to satisfy other people.
One more thing. When people queue for a flashpoint, they realize what they'll have to face. They know that there are cutscenes there, as well as people who might want to watch them. If with that in mind they still queue, then it's entirely their problem if they don't like anything they've should expected. And they have absolutely no rights to demand other people to play the way they want them to.

Yeah, people surely have real life outside of a game. That's why they should manage their time. Again, if they don't have time for something, it's their own problem, not the people's they play with. So if you have any doubts about being able to complete a flashpoint before you have to go, just don't queue for it, use your time on something else. Yelling on people with "I'm running out of time, get on the ball and skip everything FFS" is definitely not a way to go.
Also, what hour are you talking about? All BT cutscenes combined will take 15-20 minutes at most.

If it's Black Talon normal mode, as in the level 10-ish flashpoint, yah, they're rude.

If it's Black Talon hard mode, you're the one being rude for not skipping. How many times have we all seen those same conversations? Just smash the spacebar and let it go, man.

There is a lot of assuming in your statement. I am working on my 3rd character and just seeing some of the flashpoints for the first time thanks to group finder, so I like to watch them.

The easiest solution is to ask people kindly at the beginning if everyone will spacebar. If not, either leave the group or get over it. I usually just watch tv in the situations that I want to skip and others do not.

this is the internetz! Patience does not exist on it any more!

If they don't skip the cut scenes- stand up walk around your room- do 10 pushups/situps -go make a coffee! Lots of things you could do instead of insulting people cause they want to watch a cut-scene they paid for!

If people do this to me- I leave the group or vote kick them!
I do not play with obnoxious rude players!
Huh?

I like the way you think, mister. Too bad it wasn't just one kiddie screaming...you could have votekicked him.
