Why do people hate this game?

The biggest problem with SWTOR is that it could easily have been SO much more than it is. (and still could be)

The second biggest problem with SWTOR is stuff that they didn't get right and doesn't even exist anymore (RvR).
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

Making the game better (or trying to) isn't "hating", its the only thing that can actually help SWTOR.

I totally agree. Games like GW2 and SecW are trying this too and failing horribly. The cutscenes in GW2 are really horrible and don't even get me started on SecW where your character just looks like he's high on something while listening to NPC rambling on and on.

SWTOR was the first to introduce this and did it right in 1 go. Kudos.

it has nothing to do with what this game is, or what other games offer, its all about the expectations of people from this game. Some thought it would be a sandbox game like star wars galaxies, some thought that it would be the perfect themepark aka wow in space.

I can think of one or two that tried, but they were from very small developers and were actually hurt badly due to lack of developement pace and bugs, not really from their chosen path.

Ok. Here is my n2 cents.

First, I think there is a disctinction between criticism and hate. Unfortunately, it is hard to see some times because because some people add insults to injury as it were. For example, calling the devs lazy or stupid takes a way any possibility of a fruitful conversation because it becomes clear that the discussion is not really about the flaw at all.

Second, and this is what I don't get, it is one thing to come here and post the reasons why you are leaving the game, and quite another to come back time after time after that to belittle others who don't share your point of view. It seems that some feel slighted and take the flaws of the game personally. There are even a rare few who berate others for coming back to the game. I don't have an explanation for this... That is what I would call hate. It is not enough for some to hate the game, others must hate it too.

And, what is even more interesting is that this behavior is not specific to this game. Check out other boards and you will see the same shtick.

Criticism is welcome I say. Value latent judgments and what boils down personal attacks on devs and BW are not.

Exactly. More posts like that. that is exactly what I want. Discussion just like you said. I like to hear people's thoughts and opinions.

Most of them are only seeking attention, they are so lost that they have to voice negativity on a forum where actually nobody cares what they have to say.

If only they could get that it is so simple, if something does not work out for them move on.....donīt spoil the experience for others.

I bet that some only logs on to the forum to whine eventhough they have stopped playing a long time ago, I feel sad for those actually
