Okay, I don't want this to happen, but someone in-game told me to Google it, so I did. Is BioWare actually considering this?! By God, what a travesty that would be. This game is simply too high profile to stoop to that level. And if it does go that route, I won't be sticking around. I want peace of mind that I have full access to the game, not piece-by-piece pay-as-you-go garbage. The F2P gutter trash business model completely undermines the sense of achievement MMORPGs have been about.

Can anyone confirm what BW plans on doing, or if this is even accurate?

about your forum sig...whats yer comp?

i have a cyberpower gua250 pc,and recently installed the amd radeon hd 6850 graphics card

i run at maximum settings, all situations,at 60 fps...no lagging whatsoever...none at all...and sometimes for no apparent reason it shoots up to 100 fps

but on topic, even if the game goes f2p,ill still be around...a majority of my mmo experience is in f2p games....so ill have no problem once that day comes

considering that its already going to happen, just a question of not if but when...i welcome it

ive learned how to live in f2p games...and it`s actually nice once you get used to it

though i advise, that for the game`s health, when this does happen,bw uses an ironfist management policy...

and the extra money f2p brings in will rapidly accelerate developement of the game anyways

and another thing is none of us,especially not you...knows what for mthis will take...it might be something as simple as them adding an appearence tab...and you can buy different costumes and the like from the cash shop...and no combat stuff

I'ts not really BioWare. It's the publisher EA. They're considering the option of SWTOR going F2P in the future.

If it does happen, I'm outta here.

I just deleted the sig. I actually just doubled up on RAM and now I run things fine. Thanks though.

Yeah... same here. Though I'd be super bummed. What a waste. And I hate investing all my time into it now that I know this could be the future of the game. What's the point in playing now?

Its true but since so many player (of the few that remain) dont like the idea they pulled it so no one can see it anymore. If its not there then it cant be true according to EA/Bio.

F2P wont help the game either IMO. The problem with the game is the core of the game and being able to play it for free wont solve those problems.

Lets get all the fanboiz in here to say that if it did go F2P that would just help prove that its one of the best MMO's ever.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

Can't understand why people still always assume the worst when someone mentions f2p. in recent years many games have gone f2p with some very decent models. So, I wouldn't be worried... but I hope that should this happen BioWare does not screw this up by making it pay 2 win.

About a month ago one dev said something along the lines of 'We have to always consider all options including free to play' This quote got taken out of context and proportion to mean Bioware/EA is going to take it F2P when all he was saying was what any MMO would in that they have to always consider all options and would do whatever they had to for the long term good of the game not that they were definitely leaning one way or another
