It would be a big issue if there were open world PVP with objectives, but since there is not, it doesn't serve much purpose.

I played a MMO where you could cross faction chat I can not recall any faction related abuse in the many years I played it directed at me, even when PvPing. I have never supported the idea that people should use tools like that as an excuse to be a tool themselves. Always supported it, even thought having it off by default with the ability to toggle cross faction communication on would have been the best of both worlds /ignorefaction However its lucky only the other faction trash talks, and gets abusive huh? Be terrible if you had to listen to it from your faction!
