You trolls really have to get on the same page this week.

This week is jump on the F2P bandwagon. There's only room for 1 topic of misinformation a week.

This guy must've missed their weekly meeting. Either that or he's a cowboy.

Good point. I think they did. But on the subject of this thread, I would not put much faith into a poster's comments as officail on some other forum. And I see a lot of childish finger pointing going on in this thread and I bet I am older than any of you youngins. And when you get to my age, 42 is young...very young...lol

So BioEA did what comes naturally to a large corporation, they used statistics to try to make the most people happy that they could. The corporatists soon took hold of what was left of Bioware and the rest is history... The bottom line here is the game was dumbed down from Beta to what we have currently. Game developers who are making games that are worth anything today are ignoring the HERD and following their own history and paths to make better games. EVE is a good example of this trend. What BioEA forgot is this new generation probably had no experience with KOTOR but decided to change SWTOR to appease them anyway. In perfect corporatist logic they opted for the genius Lose Lose strategy - alienate your long time fans by neglecting what made Bioware great and at the same time anger the new MMO crowd with a WOW clone that isn't "exactly like WOW"... I think if BioEA had tempered their reactions to the "fans" and these forums they could have pulled this off. For example look at the mess they made of DAO and ME. The sequels to these games bear little resemblance to their originals, they are completely dumbed down, but BioEA rejects this criticism. So who cares? EA has money and power so they will just try to force feed the herd what they think it wants, but in the process they have completely ruined a once great game company. But yes the "fans" (this new herd) is partly to blame for this fiasco too.
^^

Quoted for truth..

I was in the beta as well.. In many ways, I miss how the game was..
Who is the more foolish? The fool or the fool that follows him?

oh im not putting any faith in anything about this game, not ppl like this blogger or anyone else for that matter. i have 3 lvl 50's my highest pvp toon is valor 58 and ive cleared all the content on all modes of difficulty so im confident i can make up my own mind.

that being said the last couple days ive been considering resubing to CoH and walking away from ToR for a while, still not sure what i want to do.

Nope, not Sept 2011. During that time we were still speculating on a release date and a release of a release date (yes, sad, I know). All we had was a "hint" that it was coming "soon."

In fact these new forums didnt even come out until after release IIRC. Only a few months old actually.

This site has been around since at least Oct 2008 when I signed up and have been following since. There were talks of races, romances, and the then HUGE lightsaber hilts which was the first controversial issue the fans complained about.

Oh and lets not forget the beta forums which were around way before Sept 2011 with leaks everywhere ... of which I never once saw any big discussion wanting this to be more like KoTOR 3.

There is just way too much incorrect information given by both this "inside employee" and especially the blogger.

Bet I know BW/EA's answer.
I thought people don't buy long subs until after the game has been out for at least a few months because everyone who's played a computer game before knows there's going to be 100 hotfixes & patches?

In beta - the hype and your imagination made up the largest part of the game.

After launch, it became apparent that it's just a game made by real people - and it wasn't actually going to make you into Luke Skywalker.

OK, the game had lots of flaws - and it still has a lot to aspire to, but it's a pretty damn solid MMO with a fantastic levelling process by way of interesting storylines.
