Predictions for new FOTM class?

i dunno, i look at some of the good assassins in the WZ score board, and see that they've managed to do reasonably well on dmg (almost as much as my pyro, which is at the top of the board), at the same time, as much protection as I threw out, BUT, they have a bunch of heal too.

a class that can put out numbers in all 3 areas?! NERF!..

In seriousness though, I think it'll be snipers. Those guys are doing a ridiculous amount of dmg while having some insane survival.

What insane survival? Sure, they are great in the damage department, but they aren't exactly sturdy. They are the closest thing to a glass cannon in this game.

well, lets compare it to the other glass cannon in game - PT Pyro.

pyro has comparable burst potential, but at a 10M range, without an escape. pyros are great if you have a couple healers keeping you alive, but without a healer, we have to be in melee range, and are incredibly squishy.

With my PT I feel as I'm leveling I'm gaining a ton of survivability. Not as much as some classes obviously but a few points in the tank tree and some tank gear from the pyro spec and things are coming along nicely. I can still do top tier damage and I have noticed a significant boost in my average life span.

I know it's off topic but I related to the short life span until I hit the early 40's. Now I feel a lot tougher than I was a few weeks ago.

But yeah... I still feel that panic mode when having to be so close to be effective and having ZERO escape routes. Especially considering my main is a marauder and I'm used to having a way out. With a PT... when the HP gets low I just hit as hard as possible before I drop and go out with a bang.

sniper and pt pyro comparison? not possible. pt pyros are 100x more mobile, and can burst as easy as... 1..2.. (flame burst -> railshot...!). LOS is a much bigger problem for Snipers than PT pyros. Let's have a look on the Sniper's POV.

Sniper's need to NOT BE, in melee range, and have to re-cover to use his burst abilities given he is chasing the kill target. (note: pt pyros running behind the healer trying to run around pillars/stairs for LOS)

unlike spammable Elemental dmg flame burst and instant rail shot, our spammable ability would be White weapon damage Snipe which has a 1.5 sec cd and requires cover. meaning if we stay in melee range of the LOSing healer we would have to:

run in range -> cover cast Sniper (1.5 sec cast) --> healer is already on the other side of the pillar LOS --> run in range -> cover -> cast Snipe -> healer LOS --> repeat.

If only Heavy Armor was useful.
In update 2.9 the game will simply uninstall itself for you.

In case you haven't noticed the trend. Bioware's reaction to current over-powered factors is NOT by nerfing classes. Instead they recklessly buff up every other class to keep them in league.
I sense a bubblegum tragedy comming out of this pretty soon.

The next OP class will either be Engineering Sniper, or some sick twisted plot to further ruin the Operative class in an attempt to make their combat style more... ... ...let's say unique shall we.

Logged onto my lowbie trooper on one server last night for a change of pace in the game and I did a who search on Ord Mantal and out of 43 players, only 6 of them weren't troopers, everyone was a smuggler.

I'm not surprised.
Now that GoergZoeller is gone, buff operative.

I thought all the people that re-rolled FOTM PT's and Mara's already re-rolled Snipers, Healer Ops and Juggs, or are we on to the next set of FOTM already?
