That's good for rift. Every mmorpg should be like that. It's not a democracy it's a corporation whose aim is to make money any way they can. If that means drowning out peoples opinions than I'm all for that. Free speech doesn't apply to a corporations forum.

They aren't drowning out opinions, they are drowning out non cunstructive and actual blatant hate threads that try to drive players away from the game.

They are moderated, they just aren't censored, there's a big difference.
Real Star Wars space combat please, not Star Wars Fox! Maybe some PvP and flight too?

I think it is different. In the beginning, the community was livid over the playability of the game and numerous bugs. It was not so much the community's fault, but the game was truly not very playable, and would bring powerful systems to a crawl. Since then the playability of the game has much improved. So I don't see much of these flaming posts.

But the quality of content is often talked about, along with the whole gaming concept, etc. Yes, the is still negative over this as well. Some that have stuck it out, through the bugs, explore many parts of the game, are looking for things to do.

I see some comments that are way out there, and obviously these posters do not understand how things are done, or how much things cost, or exactly why they are not pleased with the game. Others can talk about it more succinctly, and have points that I think are good feedback for BW.

BW does some things that are really ridiculous that warrant a lot of the negative feedback. For example, after path 1.2, players were punished for not winning. The community was livid about this, as this is definitely a main aspect of the game for many. Eventually, BW got a clue and changed the system to reward for participation and reward more for winning, instead of the punishment model.

In contrast to other games, like WOW, there were plenty of negative comments, but in the beginning, I think most were satisfied with the game overall, and there was plenty to explore...

Basically, people will use anonymity to say things they would not say to a real person, or not one holding a gun anyway.

...I would like to imagine that the Devs and other people of interest are like me and can discern the actual community feedback from the turds that spew forth from the mouths of the grognards.
But, my rage keeps me warm.

*shivers*

And its so lonely and cold, here.

OP has obviously never seen a forum before. And the community isn't going to kill this game, because this game PROBABLY isn't going to take a huge sub hit anymore. Its actually doing REALLY well for an mmo right now. Probably doing best out of all the new mmos that have come out in the past year. So....yeah
I force choke because i find it funny.

Goodbye. Someone here may miss you when you leave, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

But hey, at least Jesus loves you still.

Part of the blame when this game is fully abandoned will be in the community's hands, for being so hostile and hateful to those that aren't mindlessly praising the game.

The more you mindlessly flame, the more people that leave until you'll have to have server transfers yet again.
Reddit? The site that had to be put under extreme pressure to remove disgusting sub-communities that bordered on pedophilia? Why should I care what its users think about anything?
