Yes, they are moderated how they see fit to moderate them. There have been 4 closed threads, since last night, that I am aware of. One of them just closed 10 minutes ago. They move threads all the time.

Sorry but your idea of moderation is to close off anything negative said about the game. That is not moderation, that is dictatorship. Posts dont get closed because they are negative.. they get closed when they break the forum rules.

The Fan Boi V Hater Drone Wars had really died down. The forums are a lot better then they were months ago thats for sure.

This game's demise will have nothing to do with the complaints of the community (unless you count leaving). In fact, if more of the complaints (especially beta testers) were taken to heart this game would be much better.

I find that the only thing worse than excessively negative or complaining posts is posts that are nothing more than complaints about the complainter in some sort of fruitless attempt to win favor by grovelling before almightly Bioware. Oh, wait...sorry OP.

Wrong. You've got it twisted. The people that are so hostile and hateful are not the ones praising the game. It's the people who are talking crap about it.

The people who praise it are the ones creating threads about in-game stuff and how much fun they are having.

To be fair they are on both sides of the fense. To the extreme, there are trolls who do nothing but bash the game because thats what gives them pleasure. To the extreme there are white knights who do nothing but praise the game and bashes anyone that has anything negative to say about it.

In the middle there are those that like the game and want it to succeed. They post negative things they dont like about the game, in hopes that it gets changed for the better. They also offer solutions as to how the game could expand... in comes the white knights to bash said person and flame him all to hell because there is nothing wrong with all the holy that is ToR. Those are the people, that I think the person you quoted is talking about. If so, I agree with him. The white knights do just as much harm to the game, and community, as the trolls do.

I hate to break it to you, but every mmorpg i played has been like that except the tiny or small mmorpgs. The only difference between swtor and wow is that the moderators on the wow forums are less forgiving and more strict. That's part the reason why you don't see so much negativity. That's why BW should start issuing infractions to people who only complain on the forum like how Blizzard handles complains on their forums.

I think what amazes me most about the community is how quickly they forget what previous MMOs were like. It's like they're stuck in some sort of groundhog day effect...

The funny thing is, I'm all for free speech, but when it comes to online discourse, having a strict censor is a frickin' godsend.
