Hmm if that is the case then in the sense of WvWvW GW2 could turn out to be P2W.

You dont just buy Sirge weapons and plant them lol. Siege weapons are constructed by buying a blueprint with gold not karma. You then need supplies to build the siege weapon. Getting supplies requires you to take a supply camp by pvping each player can take 10 supply from a supply camp that they control.... thats not pay to win sorry.

To add to that you dont buy karma from the cash shop you buy a buff that gives increased karma gain temporarily. Karma is fairly easy to come by already.... just by doing the same thing you would be doing after buying a buff. So its still not pay to win sorry.

I'm really surprised that a thread about another game persisted this long in General. EA must have fired all the mods.

MORAL do not ever follow a games development closely as things will never be as good as you think and they help you think it will be. Just watch the devastation thats going to follow GW2's launch.
It will be no where near the devastation following the release of Swtor. Also only a complete tool would base their purchase of a mmo on what the game devs have to say about it. With the absolute wealth of player created content around all new mmos and in particular gw2 you are not limited to one source.

Also I'm still lolling at the guy who claimed gw2 had no plot because the quest made you gather pelts....I've leveled a few toons in Swtor and I seem to remember gathering some rather pointless items in my time.....worst argument ever.

Oh ad lol @ the guy who uses 20 buttons to play his class. Bahahaha. All the ppl saying gw has 4 or 5 buttons have no clue at all and are just showing themselves to be total and complete Swtor fanboys by attacking another game without knowing even the most basic things about it.

Wait....was that the same person? Can't be....surely...

Are those cash shop items? I am assuming the numbers are karma points? Do you know what the hours and days mean?

But if those numbers are in karma points then I can easily foresee this game becoming P2W when it comes to WvWvW.

I never said you bought Karma from the CS I said you get karma boots from the CS and that allows you to access the Karma vendor which sells consumable siege weapons. I don't really understand if karma is that easy to get why have karma boosts in the CS?

Sorry to burst your bubble but those are not cash shop items. Those are guild perks that you recieve from leveling up your guild. Something else this game lacks.

Please read the post... You dont buy siege weapons with karma sorry. Also .... same reason you have xp boosts in this game and just about any other game... just cus.

I know you guys are desperatly trying to make the cash shop look like p2win but it simply isnt and no matter how hard you try... it wont be.

The numbers are the Influence currency (GW2 has many currencies) needed to purchase the buffs Influence is gained by playing PvE and PvP like doing quests, finishing personal storylines etc... but you can also exchange Coin (the main GW2 currency) for Influence. Now this is the interesting bit, Coin can also be exchanged for Gems which are bought with RMT in the GW2 cashsop and sold ingame for the Coin. So buy some gems in the shop, sell them in game for Coin, exchange the Coin for Influence and bingo buy your guild buffs. Perfect World have a similar system in their F2P games.
