After finally getting into the GW2 beta..

Meh, I think the two games are very different and which you like (or dislike) is a matter of personal preference more than a matter of "OMG ___ is way better than ____!" Obviously, people posting on the official TOR forums are more likely to be TOR fans. xD

I am really looking forward to GW2 -- the game is just gorgeous, the character creation is wonderful, the gear/aesthetics are great, and I really enjoy the way dynamic events work. Though I miss the cutscenes and immersive story from TOR.

I also have fun playing TOR right now! But I like it for different reasons. The story is very entertaining and the cutscenes/voiceovers are just amazing, plus it is, y'know, Star Wars. Though I miss the good aesthetic sense and ease of customizing my character from GW2.

So, I will play both, at least for awhile.

i agree two very different games, i will also be playing both cause after all GW2 is F2P so no need to cancel my ToR sub to play it.

I find myself thinking that way with most f2p games, but im always wrong. In the end i either end up not liking them or they start charging me more money than a p2p would cost me.

So ive adopted a new philosophy, "If its not worth paying for , its probably not worth playing." or maybe "If its not worth my money, its not worth my time" is better.

You buy karma point as well. I don't know much about the karma system but I believe it's used to progress in the game. As in getting gear.

The karma is used to buy things to NPC vendors, not only gear, but is perfectly possible live from loot, or buy gear as good ans NPC's gear in the market since, as far as I know, crafters can craft anything an better than NPC's stuff. In terms of progression gear is not as important as it is in SWTOR. In fact at level 6 you can join PVP because your gear is authomatically upgraded to level 80, also your health and skills, the only difference with anohter player is the sets of skills because you are limited to the unlocked skills.
GW2 has the same PVP concept as GW, nobody should be uber because of the gear thus everybody has the same stats in their gears. It's a skill based game, not a gear based game as it is SWTOR.
