Really?
What if he does? What's your business to tell the person in question what they should think? Just because your opinion is different from someone else's doesn't mean it's fact. Instead of trying to convince others your opinion, look at yourself in the mirror and ask "Why am I still on these forums even though I think this game is rubbish? Why do I have to stay on them? Does it make my life better knowing that my opinion will sway others? If my life is fulfilling why am I online in a game forum, that I do not like, attacking a game to get a rise from others?"

And quit trying to be condescending. You're no better than any of us.
Those who seek attention and post they are unsubbing are much like wailing babies wanting attention.

They basically spoon feed you all but the absolute most bleeding edge gear (campaign and war hero) which are painfully gated, as a way of veiling the fact that there isn't much to do.

I just don't really feel like aiming your game directly at altoholics is the best way to maintain a strong and diverse player base.

Point me to some of these "huge" benefits by the way, because to me, the benefits of legacy seem rather minimal. Is it the 3% bonus to crafting critical chance? Yeah, that is massive right there. Is it the 30% bonus to companion affection from gifts? Enormous. Is it the experience bonuses, when most people that have played since launch already have 4 or 5 level capped characters, or more? Is it mailboxes on your ship or in the field respecs?

I'm not seeing these "huge" benefits granted from alting, it all seems like fluff and credit sinks, you really don't gain anything from alting itself, you gain those perks from grinding dailies every day for credits.
I agree with this. I tried to level a Sith Sorcerer after leveling a Counselor to level 50, but besides the story being different, they are really doing the same old things over again. And yeah, the legacy benefits are nothing to write home about. They seem to be mainly a huge credit sink to get the player to play more and earn more credits. A mail box and GTN on your ship? lol! You donot spend that much time on your ship anyway. The game makes sure of that by design. And most of the posters on the forums before the server merges, complained about not being around many other players. :P

As far as GW2 goes, I have not played it and really have no plans to buy it without atleast trying it out beforehand with a free trial. But I think the fair comparison has to be how does it stack up to TOR when you consider it has no subscription? I mean....I am sure a Lexus will ride better than a Corrolla, but what good does that do when you cannot afford the Lexus anyway? But the Corrolla may in the long run give you the most bang for your money.

What if the Lexus is the same price as the Corrolla BUT uses no gas, has more color options (char design), and some (not all) better features and the only thing lesser is it's radio (VO)?

So I read the wiki wrong, still doesn't mean that there won't be any cash shop transactions. Btw there are some cash shop transactions in GW2 already. Things that increases crafting boost, experience boost and even cosmetic items. Do you think they're going to stop there? Nah. Of course not. They'll implement more in the future.

Don't know why they are being compared really seeing as how GW2 has no subscription.

I might just buy it to play on the side.

Lol. I have not played it, but from what I have gathered from watching the game play videos of those who have ( YouTube ) it is not up there with other MMO's in game play for me. In other words I cannot look at GW2 as a luxury car. But I donot look at TOR as a good bargain, if it is a luxury car, it is one which is certainly overpriced.

GW2 does not cost the same as TOR. When you consider the cost of the subscription model. In today's economy, GW2 will offer to many a much lower cost per hour of entertainment. I can afford multiple subs, but there are many who cannot or prefer to spend thier money during the year on other things, like food, bills...etc.

As the dust settles both games offer something different. I think it's safe to say that GW2 is not the second coming of thy holy one. Both games will probably hold steady bases of a million players. If you go to either game's forum and troll them, saying your product is superior, you really need to go outside.

If ToR gave me the slightest inkling they were adding some decent content to PvP, i would probably not cancel when GW2 comes out. For me at least, the silence if deafening.

For "some of the most experienced PvP developers in the world", it sure has been a huge letdown here.

Ranked WZs don't seem to be the huge hit they were made out to be.

Anything but running the same WZs over and over on the horizon?

Whats up with Ilum? Any updates at all?

Looks like all I can hope for is the hard core PVP'ers here leave for GW2....

This. And I hope the F2P crowd join them.
