Swtor Same sex romances, what happened?

No one is asking to have gay sexuality 'flaunted' in the faces of people who don't desire such a thing. Additionally, if being gay is just 'how you are' then why do you worry that a video game with an option for gay romance will change kids into something they weren't already.

I'm sure you don't what her to start playing with boys sexually at a young age either. I guess you just treat the current romances with a grim acceptance then since they aren't likely to go away?

And also, people don't rationalize something they see as wrong suddenly being ok because it was in a video game or on tv. No, not even kids.

Maybe your not homophobic, but you sure as hell sound like it. Being homophobic and protecting your half brother are not incompatible. It just means that you highly value family.

Defending your gay brother doesn't shield you from accusations of homophobia, it makes you a good brother. Unfortunately your attitudes towards this subject mirror the very people whom you had to protect him from.

i sure hope bioware doesnt waste resources on fluff when there are so many things core to the gameplay of swtor they should be working on long before some gay companion pets.

It's great that you are able to love, protect, and accept your half brother, but can you not see how the first paragraph I quoted can be taken as homophobic?

That paragraph makes homosexuality sound like a disease you can catch, and that children need to be protected from. The thing is, you cannot push a child to be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. They either are, or you aren't.

I can understand if as a parent you don't want to expose your young daughter to any romance stories because she might start thinking that's it's ok for her to act that with with boys or girls at that age, but by saying you don't want her desensitized into thinking it's ok to pay with girls, you are (whether you intend to or not) saying that it is not ok to be interested in your own gender.

You said that being gay is accepted as long as it's not flaunted in front of heterosexuals. The thing is, heterosexuality is flaunted on virtually every TV show, movie, book, comic, and song, whether they are geared towards adults or children. So now we have a world where one group of people can express themselves freely, and another group are taught that they are disgusting, that they make people uncomfortable, and that they need to be hidden. Would you want one of your children growing up feeling like that?

But to push kids in that direction by subjecting them to gay sexuality at such an impressionable age, is dangerous.

The game is rated 13+. People under 13 shouldn't be playing it anyway. People 13-18 should be playing (or not playing) under some level of adult supervision unless they have legally emancipated themselves.

"Kids" should be a non-issue in this discussion, if parents are being parents, regardless of opinion on SGR.

I'm asking because I feel it's relevant to what you say about warnings to parents. Do you think a gay storyline will harm children in some way? Yes, you do. Yet you seem quite happy for the same children to go around killing whatever they chose to. I'm asking if that's what you think.
And please don't think I'm attacking you, I mean you no harm whatsoever. I'm just saying you're view on this is wrong, and that you are being homophobic.

Can't we get more actual story for our characters like continuing the chapter missions, rather then wasting time on niche stories? Cater to the majority (something everyone is going to access) rather then the minority(which is actually bothering with same sex relationships.

Does that sound homophobic? I dont care. I just rather a writing team spend time on something everyone will use rather then something very niche, and especially since the game is in the beginning stage we need less niche and more major stories.

No, that doesn't sound homophobic atall. But I would say it would be a sad day when only the majority is catered to. We are all a minority in something or another, after all.

the whole point of freedom and democracy (dunno if i spelled that right) is to serve the majority and the minority,while protecting the minority from the majority`s wrath

multiple times,the homeland of starwars has nearly been torn apart by issues regarding rights of the minority....and everytime this homeland came back together stronger,,,with the old prejudices being tossed away like rotten hamburger

this is just another one of those sorts of things,except this time we can see it happening directly
