Michelle Bachmann and Chick Fil A happened. Many people in the U.S. are homophobic and BW doesn't want to lose their business.

It's pretty sad because almost everyone has a homosexual friend or family member and they aren't even treated as equals in a virtual world.
The best MMO I have played in a long time. Not perfect but pretty close to it.

This game isn't solely for the U.S of A though, it's a global MMO, pandering to one nation above all else, is a very foolish thing to do for an MMORPG.

I don't even think this is a big issue. There are more important things to fix or add to the game, besides making it a political statement.

Masta-Blasta - Vanguard

Sindorin - Assassin

Yes but they want the largest market they can get. It's all about $$$$$$

I agree. There are more important things to worry about for the game.
Always be who you are, not what the galaxy wants you to be

You see here is the funny thing, if you are talking about Engine optimization, PvP, etc... fair enough, except nobody who does the SGRAs, the writing team, has absolutely anything to do with those things, so it isn't going to drain on anything.

And to any thoughts that anyone else has that this is a very small minority that no one should really care about.

BiOWare has one of the largest LGBT Gamer followings in the whole industry, then look back at the original debates, which were capping three incarnations every day about SGRAs, meaning thousands of posts were made on the subject the entire time, look at social.bioware.com there is a far larger LGBT fanbase on there than on here and having been there for years myself, a lot of people there would be more interested in TOR, if SGRAs were finally implemented than they were originally.

To be honest I think the whole romance aspect of this game is lame. I want to kill things not romance but if other players want that they should get it if possible.

Except that, considering EA, BIOware and LucasArts have been backing the LGBT movement more and more, especially now, It's clear that they have no qualms about it and given that the only people who would seriously quit the game because of it, are an even smaller minority than LGBT peoples are in America (the extreme Republican movement), I doubt they are losing any sleep over the subject.

It's been discussed to death. There will be no same gender romance because all the talk of same gender romance has sucked all the oxygen out of the earth and the only people still playing are controlled by Skynet. And Skynet has no gender and thus doesn't care to spend time programming same gender romance.

That genuinely made me laugh.
