After finally getting into the GW2 beta..

None are true. I actually really enjoy text based MUDs, and tabletop as well. I do not really like WoW.
I even have problems with SWTOR, but it lets me connect with some real life friends and relax. I like the world itself.
So please don't peg me as some oblivious fanboy.

I asked for an example because I've seen this fervent negativity from you, but never anything constructive or really even specific. Always blunt, vague statements. Please, tell me which game you love that I've never heard of. It will make you seem less like a troll. I promise I won't invade its sacred ground.

These are bloated console RPGs .

The concept of MMO as it was originally conceived is just Lost . Most current so called MMO gamers never even knew it.

I had to pull that one out. How in that a bad thing? I think abstracting from nature is a pretty awesome thing about us humans. If it's such a bad thing, what is your alternative? If we hadn't have abstracted from nature, there wouldn't be any art history, which is something you think the masses should know more about.

I'm surprised to say that after finally getting a chance to play the hypefest that is GW2, I think I actually appreciate what SWTOR has to offer. With the way people talk about GW2 and some seriously crazy fanboy shenanigans going on, you'd think it was the second coming of Jesus and after playing I honestly thought I'd probably unsub to this game and never pick it up again.

However, after a good five hours playtime, I'm already missing SWTOR. Granted GW2 actually feels like a more modern MMO, their stories for the races are absolutely woeful in comparison to SWTOR. Okay do you want to go into some cave and recover some medicine from some bandits or do you want to infiltrate a notorious crime lord's gang and carefully plant the seeds of doubt in their mind and force them to your side? And don't even get me started on the fact you face some guy three freaking times and each time you worry about what's going to happen.. WHY CANT I KILL HIM???

Still, this aside, I do love the world quests where you can just join in and random events plus the WvW pvp is a LOT of fun and what Illum should have aspired to be.

Regardless, after playing the second coming of Jesus, I've came out of it appreciating SWTOR a lot more and what it actually offers.

Leveling 1-49 is fantastic in SWTOR, but once you hit 50 it becomes very boring. It's like they put all their time into developing the game from 1-49 but then forgot about end game.
