None are true. I actually really enjoy text based MUDs, and tabletop as well. I do not really like WoW.
I even have problems with SWTOR, but it lets me connect with some real life friends and relax. I like the world itself.
So please don't peg me as some oblivious fanboy.

I asked for an example because I've seen this fervent negativity from you, but never anything constructive or really even specific. Always blunt, vague statements. Please, tell me which game you love that I've never heard of. It will make you seem less like a troll. I promise I won't invade its sacred ground.
Friend , you are really dense if you think I am here to Construct.

I play REAL MMO

SWTOR , RIFT , WOW, LOTRO,

on and on and on....

These are bloated console RPGs .

The concept of MMO as it was originally conceived is just Lost . Most current so called MMO gamers never even knew it.

You do know that critical threads get closed when they aren't constructive, right?

All that typing and you gave me NO more information than before. Knowing all these Great Secrets makes you REALLY important.

Please, enlighten the Great Unwashed. Or if you're afraid of us soiling your precious True MMO, give us a hypothetical idea of the Ideal MMO, using all the same things that make your secret game so great.

Don't take the Great Unwashed thing so hard , seriously

Look , Humanity is profane .

We abstract from nature , destroy the environs , then take to destroying each other.

Most of us know little to nothing about history , science , art.

In fact , there is more knowledge in the world at this point than you could hope to acquire in many life times.

The Great Unwashed , consider your self among their ranks. You are.

Hell , look what you're doing now. This is your passion.

Some stupid game, not even a good one. And you are defending it.

If this entire dialogue isn't an argument for state sponsored depopulation I don't know what is.

And no, I wont give you ammunition by telling you what Game I prefer. Just fodder for folly.

I had to pull that one out. How in that a bad thing? I think abstracting from nature is a pretty awesome thing about us humans. If it's such a bad thing, what is your alternative? If we hadn't have abstracted from nature, there wouldn't be any art history, which is something you think the masses should know more about.

You got me there. I usually never feed trolls, but there's something about you that fascinates me. Can't put my finger on it. I've had a good time though, and that's what ALL games are for, even your precious Secret MMO. Right? I think?

When did I actually defend the game? I was just attacking the way YOU were attacking it. There is a difference, believe it or not.

If you didn't want any folly, you wouldn't have posted in these boards in the first place. :P

Same here - Pre-order happily paid.... it offers a different style gaming experience to SWTOR for sure.

GW2 for WvWvW pvp (it's awesome) - SWTOR for class stories (I have a month or so break after each 50 so far, makes me not burn out on the game and have time for other SP games/MMOs etc) and Ranked Warzones (which will eventually expand to more WZs etc) : Don't have the patience/inclination for Raids etc, I don't really enjoy them and I hate the grind of dailies.

I came into SWTOR a newb (my first proper MMO attempt) thinking I would HATE PvP, and only do PvE.... end up LOVING PvP and the competitive nature of it/progression, and finding endgame PvE boring as buggery (except for the first playthrough of each HM etc - I'm a story/lore head, I don't like repeating history OVER and OVER again, although some enjoy this right?).

Good times - GW2 & SWTOR in tandem : great match.

I don't think many people follow the(non-class) story again the second time round. Watch it on the first go but on the second, better warm up that spacebar.

Can you two philosophy majors get your heads out of the sky and get down to a practical level where SOMEBODY MIGHT CARE? Morality and ethics I can understand. Wish-washing about who abstracted what from the jizzjazz, when wishwashing, abstracted, and jizzjazz aren't even properly defined terms.. arg, it drives me mental.
Endgame gear grinds are not the way.

If all the players are like I'm sure this super secret MMO has the greatest community ever.

On a different note there are so many reason GW2 is better than TOR its not even funny. BioWare spent 200 million on this game? Honestly that's nothing short of utterly ridiculous.

However, after a good five hours playtime, I'm already missing SWTOR. Granted GW2 actually feels like a more modern MMO, their stories for the races are absolutely woeful in comparison to SWTOR. Okay do you want to go into some cave and recover some medicine from some bandits or do you want to infiltrate a notorious crime lord's gang and carefully plant the seeds of doubt in their mind and force them to your side? And don't even get me started on the fact you face some guy three freaking times and each time you worry about what's going to happen.. WHY CANT I KILL HIM???

Still, this aside, I do love the world quests where you can just join in and random events plus the WvW pvp is a LOT of fun and what Illum should have aspired to be.

Regardless, after playing the second coming of Jesus, I've came out of it appreciating SWTOR a lot more and what it actually offers.
Right, whatever. Like I didn't have to kill Nomen Karr 3 x then his idiot padawan after that, 4 boss fights in a row.

at least in GW2, the entire story is based on your character, not just 10% cutscenes.

Every new MMO does that. This isn't unique to just swtor. Most people spend a large portion of their time leveling up to cap thus the majority of the development time is spent on the leveling process. End game content is added over the years. WoW did this, FFXI did this, etc...

The only thing I really have to say on what BW probably should have done was added mini games of sorts for 50's to kill time with. Pod racing and pazaak would be the most obvious of things to add but they could of also had actual pvp space combat as well. I think those three things alone would have done a lot for the game for 50's waiting on new content.
