If you like SWTOR at this point and appreciate what it has to offer.

You are one of the few.

Most dont like it. Most have cancelled and declared the game a failure. It has received horrible reviews and at this point the only interest in the game for most is a morbid one.

I dont have to say it

Don't you mean the Secret World? If you do, the combat looks pretty terribad, imo. Though it has some things goin for it (no levels, skill customization).

I've always been a bioware fan. I love the storytelling and it really shines in SwToR. Can't say I feel like paying 15 a month for it, but it's easy enough to buy a month here and there when I get the urge to run a storyline (usually after I see one of the movies). Great game.

GW2 is not the same level of storytelling, but I really don't think that' should be a surprise. Not many can do a story like bioware. But the gameplay is really really fun. Can't say I would feel like paying a monthly fee for it, so I'm very glad it is sub-free. (If it was sub based I'd probably treat it the same way i do Swtor and Wow, buy a month when I get the urge..no long time plans.)

You are quite right. I played in the last beta weekend and i have to say i was extremely disappointed in GW2. It is over hyped without a doubt.

This is nothing new however. Anyone that played WoW from the begining and followed the competitive PvP scene will note the countless times a new MMO has been released to great hype and claims of quitting WoW only to have these same people quitting and trashing the new game a month down the line.

That being said, i do think it has a chance of killing SWTOR. Mostly because as PvPer, there is little reason to play SWTOR and pay a subscription fee when Bioware has demonstrated time and time again they cannot release new content/balance the game in a timely manner. Simply put, waiting 4 months for relatively minor content updates is far too long and quite frankly not worth 15$ per month. Particularly coming of the promises of a continual stream of content updates every month i think they said? lol

Im really not sure your sub pays for at this point, because based on how long it takes them to develop anything, you'd think they have a total of 5 employees working on this stuff.

Speak for yourself. I am another one of those "few" who you mentioned like the game. Also could you perhaps give some evidence to back up the claim MOST have cancelled? I mean take my server for example, there are 180 people at least during prime time, my guild does weekly raids and we create our own events. So while you may not like the game that's entirely up to you, but please don't try to speak for all of us because I assure you there are plenty of people still playing and intend on staying.

Its already been stated that it will be cosmetic/fluff items and some temporary buffs like xp boosts only. There will not be any p2win items in the cash shop as GW2 doesnt have gear treadmills like other MMOs.

Well... they just merged the servers not long ago. Im sure you mean 180 people on the fleet because 180 people is not alot of people lol. I could log on a popular Rift server right now and see that same number in a specific area. While I would not say that ToR is dying, I would say it lost an assload of subs. People that think this game has over a million active subs need a reality check.

They basically spoon feed you all but the absolute most bleeding edge gear (campaign and war hero) which are painfully gated, as a way of veiling the fact that there isn't much to do.

I just don't really feel like aiming your game directly at altoholics is the best way to maintain a strong and diverse player base.

Point me to some of these "huge" benefits by the way, because to me, the benefits of legacy seem rather minimal. Is it the 3% bonus to crafting critical chance? Yeah, that is massive right there. Is it the 30% bonus to companion affection from gifts? Enormous. Is it the experience bonuses, when most people that have played since launch already have 4 or 5 level capped characters, or more? Is it mailboxes on your ship or in the field respecs?

I'm not seeing these "huge" benefits granted from alting, it all seems like fluff and credit sinks, you really don't gain anything from alting itself, you gain those perks from grinding dailies every day for credits.
My major benefits from legacy? The huge boost to presence I have for having 4 capped toons with all companions maxed and finished. I won't even mention having orbital strike on every character.
