Oh well, give it a time. And wait for the gw2 forums to go live (if ever).
There will be disapointed, fanboys, casual "meh whatever" players etc.
Big plus for GW2 is its B2P model, which will keep the game population artificially high, because many ppl will log even that they have nothing to do or are just bored from the game, but they can log, because there is no monthly fee.

Also the B2P model has a nice psychological effect on the ppl that can not or dont want to pay for goods from the cash shop, which will make them to FARM their way to all these goods. This will also keep many ppl playing the game.

All this aside the all new stuff that the game will bring on the market. Is also very important how they will execute them (didnt play the beta events, so cant say how is the state of the game right now, but yeah on paper everything sounds just wonderful).

I am talking from my experience with the f2p model, even some super crapy f2p games keep high population because of these reasons.
PvP is cancer.

I think the main difference is the dynamic events and RvRvR. Besides that, GW2 looks like a standard MMO (yes, the holy trinity is still there - just spiced up a bit). One thing that might draw in alot of people is the customization of your character. Been watching my sister spend hours making new characters and it doesn't stop there - end game is suppose to give a huge array of different styles (instead of stats basically).

I'll stick with SWTOR for now since I am terrible bored with fantasy

You go to any popular MMO forums and you will mostly see posts complaining about some parts of the game. This is only natural and will happen all the time. I found this post from a WoW moderator interesting as it relates to this very same subject....

....."By looking at actual stats, actual progression, time spent playing, where, and to what extent, ... so yes, we absolutely are able to tell without a doubt that the plan we're enacting is actually what players playing the game want and need, and are not just listening to people on the forums."

This is what any smart MMO company will do. Take the input from the players on the forums to improve the game, but never let it be the driving force behind the changes or adjustments.

another thing i like about gw2 is that their devs actually take time to reply in the forums and they actually play the game!!

also, yes there will be haters in gw2 after they play it. nothing can satisfy everyone. but i dont think its going to be at the level of disatisfaction that swtor have atm.

I m going to be on GW 2 mainly cuz i m pvp player and this game will give more competition than swtor. There's no stuff like 'expertise' this is gonna be based on skill , that's the main reason why i want to be on gw than swtor.
also because i m a gw veteran

Well, I think it's too early for me to say if I'm going to snap up GW2.. but I've kept an eye on it.

Short answer? It actually changes the standard WoW-clone mmo formula in more than merely cosmetic ways.

Questing is very different. The focus in PvE is cooperative in the extreme; yet grouping is not forced .. nor even necessary. You just show up in an area, you're on the same quest as everybody else, and everybody gets credit for mob kills and xp for contributing to completion, and their own loot. It has a lot of small changes to old mmo tropes that .. once you see them, appear obvious in a 'Wow, why didn't wow have that eight years ago?' sorta way. It's free to play. It won't have a gear/stat treadmill. Though I'm not a pvper, the pvp is apparently reminiscient of the fan favorite DaoC.
Endgame gear grinds are not the way.

maybe you should get your facts straight, WoW uses the holy trinity system, guild wars does not so the pve is hardly a clone. not to mention different weapons change your main abilitys.

if you want to know why so many ppl are planing to leave for GW2 go watch a few youtube vids. i watched a couple after some friends told me about it and after seeing for myself i will be leaving too.

This is exaclty what I got from watching some of the videos of it. And is also the very reasons it will attract a lot of MMO players. Myself however, I am not going to buy it until I get a free trial first. And now to to get the beta key you have to preorder the game?
