Great idea. I was actually working on a hybrid Arsenal/BG spec purely to get that Shield anti-interrupt bonus. But you have to sacrifice heat seeker and a few other good skills.

OFF-TOPIC TIP: The Operatives have a Defensive CD called "Evasion".

It grants us 100% chance to dodge melee and ranged attacks for 4s (because the Enforcer bonus set gives us an extra 1s to dodge.) The effect is a glowing green shield. Everytime I see a Mercenary and he starts using Tracer Missile I usually pop it and DPS him down. So save your stuns for that CD and you should be able to defeat most Operatives.

BUT

Unlike the Mercenary though, I cannot dodge Grav Round because it is a Tech attack. The Scoundrel has the same ability, therefore the Commando DPS has an advantage over the Mercenary DPS. I find it unfair that I can dodge a Merc but not a Commando. But the Assassin has an ability that resists Tech damage for 3s, so I guess it is fair since Commandos will miss against assassins and Mercenary DPS will not. Also, you cannot CC the Assassin during this state.

I thought I would let you guys know.

What I love about this thread is really the "Irony" of it all. In 1.2 Mercs were nerfed (Albeit Very slightly) due to the massive forum crying for people in the community because everyone was saying they were "OP". Now we are seeing threads on how bad they are.

When I read the pvp forum all I can do is sit back and laugh at these threads cause they are soooo funny. People work very very hard in crying for nerfs, cause it's easier to blame the class then to look inside at themselves and what they are doing. The same is going on with ppl begging for nerfs on classes that are not OP like Marauders and PT.

I am sure these classes will take a nerf cause the devs will see enough nerf threads roll their eyes and do some nerfs. They have since the beginning like Operatives, Sorcs, Assassin, Mercs....ect...all of these classes have been nerfed due to overwhelming amount of people crying blaming the class.

The problem with nerfing is when you do this ALL other classes take a huge buff and when this happens a new set of classes will "Feel" OP now and these other classes who were once "SO Called OP" but were nerfed are now buffed again indirectly and these people who do nothing but cry when they lose will now be crying again.

I am one who does not belive in nerfs but small buffs. Nerfing is not good for a games morale for the players of any game yet the Devs see enough "Nerf X class it's OP!" they will do so as everyone knows. If the Devs had NOT nerfed those other classes I mentioned no on would be saying Marauders or PT's are OP they would be saying the other classes are OP still.

I hope the Devs will not cave into pressure of nerf PT's or Maruaders as they are far from being OP but buff other classes instead, but history does repeat itself. I play a Deception Assassin as my main and I can take out both of those classes and both can take out me as well. I feel my class needs a buff in survivability but I do not advocate nerfing those other classes just because I may lose to someone at the time........

This discussion was never about Nerfs of another class so what is your point? This thread is about the Merc's class survivability/mobility issues.

All you Maurader/Powertech players are so damn scared of the nerf bat that every thread you see seems to be a nerf thread.

Last night in Hutt ball. 380k damage and its was almost a full round..... 0 deaths.

This is where you fail. Evasion don't protect you from tech attacks. Traser Missle is tech.

Evasion is a piece of ****, not the defencive CD. Maybe it will save your life if you see sniper charging ambush, but in the middle of a figh - only as dot remover after cloacking screen.

Expertise was changed, a new tier of PvP gear was added, other classes became more powerful. A lot of factors can contribute to a shift in class balance.

It could also be that people were too dumb to interrupt Tracer Missile in the early months of the game and finally figured it out.

I want people to take a fine look at the stats in this pick. The guy above me is a Powertech, now take a look at his DPS vs mine along with death ratio. Also look at other stats of people in this game. There is an issue with Merc's and its not DPS its the survivability rate along with Mobility restrictions of this class.

I have gone down this road to many times to count. You should scan though all the old posts and take note on how many similar suggestions have been posted about this class after the 1.2 nerfing. I say good luck to you sir becuase all you will see is trolls and Marauders saying that the class is fine as is.

I just have to lol at Xerain. Dude I feel sorry for you and the horrible life you must have to be so pissy.

Look, the pvp skill cap in this game is relatively low and most ppl know it. Because of this I mostly stopped playing my two mains and just made one of every class that I switch around between. I found that as long as you don't twink them and you only pug then low lvl pvp is a lot of fun as well when I'm on those chars.

Because of this and working full time I only play my merc (Sorc was main) between 3-10 wz's a week. So I still am not done with BM gear on him I still top the charts very often while only pugging and never having a pocket healer. I don't want to just faceroll melee and you wouldn't say I need to L2P him.

I don't know anyone who is even close to a decent pvp'r that thinks arsenal merc is balanced relative to marauder/jug/tankasin/ptech/sniper.

This thread was talking about that and so I posted my ideas on what would make them close to balanced with these classes without boosting the arsenal merc's burst because I know if BW did that then noob melee like you would QQ since you ate 4-5 hits before you tabbed over to the merc and you are upset that you don't have a chance now.

You can agree or disagree with my opinions but your comment was weak and showed that you likely need to L2P.

Also, I felt merc was OP in low lvls with the lower health pool (and I started merc after the nerf) since they could drop players very fast however even considering this I almost never lose to a merc on my sent/vguard/sniper/balance shadow so I understand merc's weaknesses and strengths.

Now my ideas again.

1. Passive: Players over 20m away can't leap to you.
2. 15-30m (dev's decide) jetpack style blink
