Am i allowed to create a character with the same name as a major star wars character?

Example: Vader, Yoda, Anakin, Bastila and Revan?

Hi MouseNoFour,

The short answer, unfortunately, is no.

The following are taken from the Rules of Conduct:

"You may not use names of copyrighted or trademarked characters, materials or products, e.g. Coca-Cola or Dr. Pepper."

"You may not use proper names of non-player characters within Star Wars: The Old Republic, e.g. Darth Malgus, Satele Shan, Yoda, Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker."

"You may not use misspellings or alternative spellings of names that violate any of the above rules, e.g. Hamsolo, Yooda, DorthVader."

You can find the full Rules of Conduct here: http://www.swtor.com/legalnotices/rulesofconduct/

Thanks.

Well the reason i ask this, is because there is a level 50 on the imperial fleet of my server... with the name Bastila. They tell me that because they were able to choose the name AND level it to 50, that this means their name is 100% acceptable.

I have raised a GM ticket regarding this - however since a GM will not give me the answer (and they didnt when they answered it), i thought i would ask it here.
