Which, if you follow how things work, one would assume that you would have opened the tables UI first (like how you need to for the Cargo Hold, Guild bank, etc), then you drag the helmet to the table.

He did not tell you incorrect. The table has the "use" mouse icon that other usable items have.
On the Internet, you can be anything you want. It is strange so many people choose to be stupid.

That, in itself, is correct. The part that wasn't said was that you have to right click the table first to open it. Then you drag the item over. He could easily have assumed you would do that part. It really sounds like this wasn't malicious. There are a lot of nasties out there, but if that's all he said then I wouldn't automatically put him in that pile.
aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?

Then he meant no harm. I imagine that is very close to how most would describe the process to someone. It's probably how I would.

It involves opening the table interface and dragging the helm icon to the table. This was the primary method of accessing the table's function in beta, so the individual was probably a tester.

It's fun how you all asume I'm terminally stupid. I opened the table interface and dragged my helm there, where it vanished.

it's assumed because this is the first time you said that. if you had the table open, put in a ticket and quit crying. for gods sake, it'sa game, crap happens. grow up and use the resources given to you to fix these very minor problems.

So you had the table open, dragged your item and it vanished.

That is a bug.

And you come on to the forum to whine about to guy who gave you perfectly good advice, and whine and whine and whine instead of writing a ticket, which would likely lead to restoration of your item?

Expect no sympathies from me for that.

The other one was a genuine scam, and I am sorry it happened to you. I would also echo what others said: Stick to people whom you know, a guild preferably, because nobody wants to get kicked out for scamming other members.

But if you act ingame like you did in this thread, finding a guild could get difficult....

This. If you had the table open and dragged it to the table, and it disappeared, then you encountered a BUG. The person told you the correct thing to do (which is the same thing that I have done for my items with no issue), no malicious intent. You are simply the victim of a game bug, not a player trying to screw you over.

Now, based on your past comments, you will still not want to waste time submitting a ticket for this bug, but even so, I will still suggest doing so. Bioware is good about restoring items (I have had some items restored myself), so chances are good you would get the item back if it was lost due to a bug.

^ This.

And at this point, while I'm sympathetic about the augement mat thief, the augment table snafu is a dead issue. But I'm pretty sure you're going to continue to rant about how terrible this guy was anyway, so carry on!

hell, it's the same solution for the crafting stuff. if he/she were to put in a ticket and let tehm know when, they could go throught hte logs and see that, yes, there was supposed to be a trade and the jerk that ran off will get nice little slap. op get's no sympathy from me when all they want to do is *****
