Thank you.
I don't believe he did overclock his processor.. it just displays slightly higher than the specified speed. I haven't touched any setting with my cpu and it says it's 0.4 above what the specified is. He's showing a 3 or 4 increase but has a much better processor than mine. We both didn't overclock.. it would be much higher than that if we did. I doubt anyone would go through the trouble of overclocking for that slight increase...

Could be wrong but I'm pretty sure any cpu with more than 1 core shows the ~speed of it's capable speed but not recommended to overclock over it. Not really cool telling him to set his cpu back to the original speed. He could easily screw his computer up messing around with that... wow. So much for customer service helping me out I guess.

EDIT: Yes, he didn't overclock.. that is the Max Turbo Frequency not what his cpu is running at. I kind of feel angry that a customer service rep doesn't know these things and is not helping but giving wrong advice that could screw his entire computer up.

What is Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and how does it work?

Intel Turbo Boost Technology is a way to automatically run the processor core faster than the marked frequency if the part is operating under power, temperature, and current specifications limits of the Thermal Design Power (TDP). This results in increased performance of both single and multi-threaded applications.

Still waiting for any suggestion that may resolve my issue and the others in this thread. I can understand that customer service action can be frustrating. That said, I would appreciate some response. I've been a paying customer since launch.

Since update 1.3 I've also been having fps issues. I start out at mid 30's-low 40's and then after a few minutes of being on drops to 1-5. Haven't been able to play for over a week now. All drivers are updated, I make sure unnecessary process' are off, my internet connection is good. Can't think of anything else to do. My thought is Swtor has a memory leak on their end somewhere. This is causing stress to some of our systems. Please fix it Bioware, as I would like to continue playing.

Might be because you over clocked your CPU O.o

1. if the guy didnt know how to overclock his cpu, im guessing he didnt do it. A lot of the new i5 cpus some with a turbo mode that does it automatically.

2. The only changes that i saw the "graphics update" made in the new 1.3 patch is to wipe any changes you made to the game ini manually and turn bloom back on.

I was having FPS issues until i went back into my game ini and set textures to 0 and my other settings i made manually for the game to run.

Yes the game has a memory leak, has since launch. The longer you run it the more memory it steals. The only fix atm is to unload the game and reload every hour or two, which is getting really old.

Been hoping they would fix this game since November, but it hasn't happened.... after all its been almost 7 months... so .. all we can do is wait and hope... or unsub.

Wish they had people like you working for them. I knew right away that wasn't the case for him and remembered the turbo charging. He also has a system (way better than mine) that should be able to run swtor with no low fps issues. I'm not waiting anymore.. I've been having lower fps for a couple months now and can't play like it is anymore. I only play for the pvp and if I can't react fast it's a nightmare. I thought it might be something with my computer and might be able to fix but I'm certain that's not the case anymore. Doesn't matter if I reload the game or not I''ll still be around 20 fps all the time if not lower.

I have had the exact same problem. Massive drop in frame rate since the update few days ago.

CPU: i5
GFX: gtx 570
Ram: 8 Gigs

I've had no issues at all with the game, I've ran it on very high since release. Only after the recent update has my frame rate dropped down to 15-20 fps, even at medium settings. The only way I can play is if I put the game on low settings which gives me an avg fps of 30-50.

I have not changed anything on my end, the only thing that has changed is the update.
Embrace the Dark Side. Conquer the Galaxy.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-x...-51-36-143.jpg Done.. what a huge waste of time this has been. Never again will I trust a game with the name Lucas associated with it.

Really getting tired of the frame rate drop as well. Ever since the 1.3.1 patch last Tuesday (7/3) I've been experiencing low frame rates. After 1.3 released I clicked the graphics update button and it basically pushed all of my settings up to high (I had been running mid-range settings getting 40-50 FPS in most situations) when I pushed that button and the settings increased I immediately noticed a graphics improvement but did not notice ANY performance loss.

So I played for about a week, no problems at all, then 1.3.1 was released, and I don't even see anything in the patch notes about performance changes (outside of the black hole) so I don't know why it happened, but suddenly my FPS has plunged down to 10-20 FPS on the fleet and in warzones. It's absolutely unplayable and it's been going on since last Tuesday. I don't find it to simply be a coincidence that my performance loss was first noticed immediately upon logging in after 1.3.1 was downloaded.

My drivers are up to date, I have tried moving my settings folder and letting the game replace it upon reload, I have removed my video card drivers, clean booted, and clean installed, I have set my in game settings to "Very Low" and then adjusted them from there, I have tried reloading my UI, I have even tried playing the game on the absolute lowest settings, and my frame rate is still 10-20 and very spiky. I'm fairly certain that I have attempted every single potential fix that I have seen in a yellow post regarding these problems.

I'm probably going to try completely uninstalling the game, deleting the game folders, and reinstalling when I get back home today, but I've reached a point where if I don't see an improvement pretty quickly I'm simply going to move on, there is no reason that I should keep paying for this game under these circumstances.
