Sadly, this issue has been plaguing MMO's for ages and this exact point was complained about way back in early closed Beta as well. It's really surprising to me that with so many players having so many creative idea's to solve the problem countless players have complained about in countless MMO's, why does it still persist?

Who are you to ASSUME what "NEED" means to another player?

See what Im getting at? I feel your pain, you lost a roll, so do what the rest of us do, RUN IT AGAIN. Its really that simple.

And please, enough with the whole "LAZY" argument, its not a valid response to your issue at hand.

There's a basic level of common *********** courtesy that has most people realizing that needing a piece for a wearable upgrade is a higher priority than vendoring the thing.

As for run it again... are you aware of what the word 'lockout' means? The things that drop the best loot by their very nature can't be farmed back to back.

The simplest fix for the whole problem would just be to give people their own drops in things like FPs.

My friend and I queued together, she was on her Jedi Sage and I was on my Jedi Sentinel, the run itself went very smoothly, right up until the final boss.

When it was downed, it dropped the Token piece for a set of the JEDI KNIGHT/SITH WARRIOR specific Tier gear. Naturally, as this was an upgrade for my character, I needed it... as did the tank, who was a Jedi SHADOW, a class which cannot even use/trade, or in any other way benefit from said token piece... and, of course, he won the roll.

When my healer friend questioned him, asking why he would need on a piece of gear he cannot use when it was clearly an upgrade for someone else in the party, HIS friend and guildmate replied that, "The tank was upset because no gear had dropped for him during the run, so he needed that in order to get SOMETHING."

First and foremost, I think we can all agree that this was beyond words in terms of rudeness and just flat out unnecessary behaviour.

Secondly, I GENUINELY hope that in the future, Bioware adds a system that makes such pieces that are CLASS specific able to ONLY be needed upon by members OF said CLASS. Granted, this won't solve completely the issue of 'ninja looting', but at least such a system would aid in cutting down on said behaviour.

That being said, I certainly hope this person develops a better attitude toward group looting in the future. I've gone many times where I've run multiple, (four to nine), random Flashpoints without even once seeing a piece of gear that might benefit my character. It. Happens. Sometimes your luck just isn't there. When that happens, deal with it, but don't jack other people out of gear because you're mad at the random loot generator.
regardless of the experience your statement that the Jedi Shadow would not benefit in any way, shape, or form is flat out INCORRECT. The Jedi Shadow can in FACT turn it in, and can also in fact stip the mods and put them into a light armor piece of gear as they cannot wear heavy. The token good for one jedi knight piece is factually benefical to the Jedi Shadow.

who's the J.A? THe player that rolled need on an item because he CAN IN FACT actually use various parts of it or the player who decided it would be a great idea to make a post about it and complain while being ignorantly and FACTUALLY WRONG about his argument.

If a knight token drops then the knight has first say if he/she needs it or not, same with any other class token drop that class gets first say if they need it or not....Its a dircet upgrade for him/her and your just ******* bout with it..

But op get yourself a guild...dont pug anything in mmos if you can help it...

Please let me know what server you play on and what your characters names are immediately so I can add them all to ignore and know not to group with you at all, if we happen to be on the same server.

Thanks.

On topic: I do hope that BioWare adds in a system like Blizzard did that only allows those that can use the gear to need on it.

Loot Ninjas really take down the fun of running an instance. Especially if you are trying to gear your character up.

Knight Token or not the gear is in fact BENEFICAL to the player that is not Knight specific. The arguement is ridiculous. The player who is upset is simply upset because he did not win the item that is directly related to his class IN SPITE of the fact there are benefits for the Shadow who did win it.

Benefical to whom more...the knight or the shadow

That point matters naught. Fact of the matter is that the item IS BENEFICAL to the Shadow. The OP spread a story that was simply false.
