My point is also quite clear, and one you seem hell bent on ignoring - if it's trolling HERE, it's trolling in-game. That's the bottom line. Bioware polices their forums, they should police the game. I'm not asking for anything "drastic" either, just simple moderation.
Again, my point is that even Trolling is not clearly defined. There are all kinds of topics that don't get closed by BioWare because no one reports them. The ones that get closed fast are usually flagged by users... same system that is used in-game. GM's will take action if people are flagged for abusing the system. I don't think there needs to be a GM baby sitting general chat for the off chance that something is in violation.

Even then it's far easier to police a forum with select few channels as opposed to a server that has a general chat for every planet... every zone with each server being entirely different. Sounds like a lot of man power to monitor just so that people don't get offended.... hence why there are filters and an ignore list built into the game so you can police your own experience.

I don't understand.
What is general chat's very useful purpose?

Spamming guild invs?
Spamming LFGs?
Spamming WTS?

I would rather see 'Return of the Wookie' thanks.

Freedom of speech man, there are always going to be people who annoy you or chat incessantly about things that are mundane or pointless to you, but it is their right to do so, if they are spamming the same message repeatedly or using foul or abusive language then report them, for everything else....it is an MMO its always gonna happen people want attention, the more you give them the longer they will continue to do these things.

And to be completely honest if your spending that much time watching general chat your doing it wrong, /pvp for rwz/wz /3 for trade why would one even need general chat? guild spam? noobs that haven't realized that group finder > spamming for groups?

I understand it's a fine line, but it's fairly clear when it's crossed.

Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

Watch out everyone! We got a totalitarian here! Seriously bro, just because you don't like the way something is being handled/used does not mean it has to be policed. You would make an awful president might I add.

Actually no such thing as "freedom of speach" in an MMORPG. It has been, can be, and will be moderated by the company the "owns" the property for liability reasons. This is one of the reasons there is a TOS.

You have NO rights in a game. You CHOOSE to play by the TOS. If you don't like it you don't have to play because if you try to complain about something in the TOS you will loose in court. Do you really want to go thru all the time and treasure over a freaking game?

Besides as a "customer" I can voice my displeasure over the way the game is moderated or lack there of. The game has a "rating" for a reason. There is OFTEN talk in "general chat" that is quite filthy and violates the "rating" of the game. Kids play this game. BW should take that into consideration -OR- slap a M+ rating on the game. If the game was rated M+ then parents really shouldn't be letting kids play the game.

General chat is about GENERAL THINGS. It is not an RP server so people can talk about whatever they like. Just ignore people or if you are LFG use the handy group finder tool. I personally thought the Jawa movie chat was quite clever (although I've seen other MMO's do it). No one was harming anyone by typing "The Good, The Bad, and the Jawa." That is why GMs don't take action

I don't care about jawa movie jokes, I care about <body part (usually a bad word)> [link ability] inaine games and other filthy talk in general chat. The game is rated T not M+. Kids play this game. EA/BW should police the game to the rating that they claim.

Or parents can you know... enforce their own views on their own children by limiting their exposure to things that might upset them.... using the filters.... turn on the profanity filter. I mean you get laid in game.. in cutscenes... sure it doesn't show the act of getting laid, but it's implied that it happened. You are ok with your kids getting laid in a video game after killing countless citizens and creatures, but it isn't ok for them to see people talking about it? It's ok for your kids to talk to their companions with the purpose of getting laid.... but they can't see anything about it in chat?

Yes the game is T for Teen... with the disclaimer also printed on the same box that Online Experiences may vary.

Oh and before you judge me. I have a 7 year old son. If I don't want him to see something. He doesn't see it. It's simple.
