I'm legacy level 30 - why do I have to pay millions of credits to unlock stuff?

I'm struggling to see the problem to be honest. My IA just hit 50 and I've still got over 900k left after buying speeder training etc. Actually I haven't picked up the PvP quest for 320k yet either . I've done Belsavis/BH dailies once.

Anyway most of the unlocks seem to be for people to make alts. Those people tend to concentrate on alts and not bother much with their 50's, so there we are 1.2m credits to spend on my next character if I want to.

Seems reasonable to me, however once I've finished leveling I just aim to get their equipment up to around 126/130 then start an alt. If you want to spend stuff on other things for your main then grind the credits, profs or whatever, but if you want more you have to grind more. That's the nature of these games.

How many people bought rocket boots for 2m credits? Not many I imagine. Complete waste of development time, made even less useful by 1.3 allowing you to buy speeder at 10.

Legacy level 31, only legacy items I have bought is first speed license for level 10 alts(s). And respec in the field because I can't be bothered to go back to fleet if I want to change something. The rest of it, even it was available free with my current legacy level I probably wouldnt bother with.

I suspect a few have bought the crafting crit percentage, but even that expense would take a fair amount of time to get back what it costs.

Legacy = credit sink. I'd hoped for better.

KK

Go grind yourself another 3.8 million and you can have a GTN on your ship.......Now do you think its over priced.

Personally I thought the Legacy system would act like a Veteran system, the longer you are actively subbed and play the game , the more unlocks you get, and the higher your Legacy level becomes the lower the price becomes for things under your legacy level.

The system as it is, is pointless, as most players have filled the majority of their 8 slots anyway, the family tree is crap, the prices are insane and cater to the top 1-2% of the player base that can do dailies on 5 characters every singe day...

Its not just overpriced, ridiculous, and pointless.

Its a complete joke.

I agree, this credit sink crap needs to go.

Just give us these abilities.

You'll make em free later on,to new players, in 6 months anyway.

Legacy really is pretty lackluster and disappointing.

I defend this game a lot but the Legacy System is a miss in my opinion. They built it up during that Guild Summit like it was going to rock our socks off. Almost all of us were under the impression from the way it was described that we'd have two options, 1. get the appropriate legacy level to unlock something or 2. purchase it for those who were focusing on just one character and didn't have a high legacy level.

Then we were confused to find that you have to spend a fortune even if you have the legacy level to unlock something.

I just get the feeling that we're dealing with another design team that is afraid of giving too much. They overcompensate in the other direction and give too little.

If they have some financial wiz at the meetings saying, "Trust me, make them grind it out and they'll stick around and keep paying" they need to replace that person with a gamer who has some common sense to tell them, "Give them cool stuff and fun stuff and they'll stick around to play with that cool stuff and fun stuff."

There should be nothing in those Legacy rewards that makes a player go, "Hmm, nah, not worth it." All of it should be very appealing. If it isn't, scrap it and replace it with something better.

The Legacy System needs more oomph.

Legacy speeder training? Nice, now take the next step down that path and give Legacy Speeders as well.

Legacy race unlocks? Take the next step and make them more than just the races from the other faction.

Legacy ship droid/GTN/target dummies? Take the next step, Legacy usable ship pazaak tables for a pazaak mini-game to use when you bring friends on board, Legacy space missions (award Daily and/or BH Comms), Legacy expanded storage, Legacy ship modification station that let's you add Augment slots to gear WITHOUT the need for Augment kits (Legacy 30 or 35).

Legacy XP character perks? Take the next step, make sure they still benefit level capped characters in some way, give each a secondary boost that would help a level capped character. Flashpoint XP boost would grant a Social boost or up the percentage of dropped credits or something that a level 50 would still benefit from.

The Legacy System feels like they only got halfway through their brainstorming session before handing it off.

I think if they said "perks will be legacy unlockable OR credits"

they should ALL be unlockable due to your legacy being that level OR if we don't want to wait we can spend credits.

BioWare....the Legacy is supposed to be in their for you to reward me by playing your game, every story, every alt, every advanced class and grinding up and keep playing. But if you don't allow my grinding/legacy level gain to unlock things...what's the point of making Legacy then if I have to shell out THAT MANY credits I could rather use for something else like pvp armor or Rakata Gear.

For damn shame....
People like me with maxed out level should be able to get EVERYTHING without credits I have put COUNTLESS hours into this game....reward me without me having to put money into everything :/

You need to make perks unlockable...you really do WITHOUT needing to have credits buy them Legacy is supposed to be FUN, you said it yourself. Not a credit sink. Time sinks are fine, credit sinks...not so much. Don't tell us level or credits then just have credits AND level That ain't right

I have been level 50 in Legacy for some time now. The only thing I purchased was the Repair Droid and Mail Droid for my main (makes things simple in operations). Beyond that I only purchased a couple of the xp bonus's for an alt because I can NOT grind another toon up and do the same quests for a 3 and fourth time. So PvP it is. I would like a reward for hitting Legacy 50, not just a cap and oh spend more creds here. Maybe allow my sage to use my agents ship? That would fall into place with the whole "family" thing
DPS is science. Healing is art. Tanking is strategy.

Personally, I've stopped playing everything but my inquisitor, and I absolutely do not buy anything with him because I'm trying to earn enough for the Chiss unlock. I get the feeling that I'm going to burn out before I get there.
I just grinded out a Chiss and kept my credits... :P @ BW

Well this is a funny turn of events. Just a couple months ago players were lighting up the forums with posts about having too many credits and nothing to spend them on. You players really need to get your priorities straight and figure out if you want handouts or a not
