I sincerely question you all's In Game support team.

I would think that someone would have the presence of mind to give a warning when something like this is going to occur. I mean, let's put aside the the many thousands of people connected to your servers. We can just call it courtesy.. /shrug

agreed. i hate to mention 'that game'. but atleast they give you a countdown (15,10,5 etc mins) till the servers go offline.

Heavier pop suervers were crashing all on their own anyways, all I can figure is that the servers had destabilized to the point it was just a matter of time before they cascaded, still an in game message would have been welcome.

Not so sure this is was a restart, i think it was restarted and didn't solve this issues. The severs fell over afterwards.

What they need is a system like WoW has where it gives a 10 min warning and counts down every min.

Here's a thought, use the frelling tool you announce "scheduled" server maint on. There is a helluva lot of the world that DOES NOT TWITTER, so No, your "announcement" is worth exactly nerf-turd.
