I'm not saying we don't need some small side games, its just that goldshire is a bad example.

I'm not quitting because we don't have mini games. I spend enough time doing the regular stuff. Oh, and please tell me what defines successful in this genre when WoW has 10 millon people and everyone else has a million or less.

As long as they have an active base and turning a profit, they are successful.
It's not just Goldshire, but what is happening in and around Goldshire that is important. Birds flying, frogs jumping..wolves killing rabbits...players using it as a dueling center. All these little things make it feel alive. Being successful is in the one's eyes paying the subs. And to many who have quit, TOR is not successful to them. True, from a marketing point of view, as long as TOR turns a profit they have been successulf for the developers and those who continue to pay them a sub.
Trust is something which is earned.

Simple answer:
Bad Management.
Servers empty:
Solution over fill them up so player can not even log on and get 9000 error over and over......
(Can not even log on to make out a ticket to complain) Note: see works no complaints!

Bugs in game:
Do a patch and shut down servers 4 days a week so player can not play or spend more time fixing game then playing. (Double bonus as now they pay to play less and when do play can fill out tickets for what is bugged)

Customer Service:
Tell them their computer is out of date or messed up even if it is a customer account billing problem.
(Works best you use multiple emails and in game ticket notice to say this many times)

But you like Rift, at release that game had about the same or even less "features" then TOR , give it some time and they'll catch up.

It's not just because it is profitable. Worst case scenario, there are still hunderds of thousands of people still playing, that is no small number by any stretch of the imagination, and is way more than enough to be called a healthy population in ANY game.

The current trend for players is to jump to a new MMO every 6 months or so, last year was Swtor, this year is GW2, next year will be TESO.

WoW is big in Asia, but if we just talk about the western market, i dont think they are so far ahead from the pack.

The point was made by a few, so I won't quote any one person.

I'm aware, and agree that LOTRO did not have many things at launch. Housing, clothing and equipment dyes, cosmetic slots, mounts, plugins, group dental, etc. And I am not saying I expect SWTOR to have 100% of that at launch. Indeed, I have said in many different threads, that I don't see things coming together for a year or more. But if we don't hold their feet to the fires now, they will try to duck around issues.

Bioware choose to get into the mess, even if they are newbies, if they think having "the doctors" or a previously untarnished reputation, and an army of fanbois to protect them, buys them a free pass, the game will never improve. This is major league, not bush league MMORPG land. They don't cut mulligans for screwing up a debut MMORPG.

Again, as always, they have time, and we have time. They can get this game in order. We can get through the new 12 step program to recover from the hypomania we get sucked into.

Ow give over already, these so called features that it should have released with go from total sandbox and a full space mmo to chat bubbles, show me an mmo that has released with every feature that people are calling for. the people who are pulling it apart who arnt on here are mostly biased because they are trying to get traffic to there website or blog. Most of them are more then happy to sing happy happy times for GW2 and previously for D3, D3 on its own says more then anything for the total fail that has become and the biased they hold.

I dont know wether to just stop reading what you write or offer you cheese.

I think he either doesnt know or is chosing to forget the reason why goldshire became so big in wow, 1st it was due to insane lag in stormwind and not being able to move and 2nd it was due to the fact there were more times then not that everyone had burned through the content (just like now in wow) and were simply not wasting there subs and keeping there guilds active because bliz used to love to tempt people to be locked into 6 months subs and have insane content draught periods. Doesnt say alot now because they are now locking people into year subs.

And all the story and voice-over is technically fluff too, meaning TOR has more fluff than any game out there.
Depth? In a kiddy pool yea. What had depth was galaxies whole space system not just combat but crafting & trading loot too crafters. Setting up gunships and getting a squadron to attack a corvette.

Because it would take 10 minutes of load screens and running to get there.

The game world sucks because it is not seamless, requiring short load screens for simply going up and down an elevator and pathetically long load screens to go from one zone to another.

It impacts virtually everything else in the game. I'm sure I'm not alone in that I do not queue for war zones or dungeons while doing daily quests because the load times are too long. I often do not do daily quests because I don't want to sit through the load times to get there. I do not go to other planets to "mess around" or help lowbies because I do not want to deal with the load times.
