I think i'll create a post wishing an MMO which has always been stated as a themepark MMO to be a sanbox MMO

Makes sense...YAAWN!

Thats NOT what the OP is suggesting, nor is it what me (and thousands of other players like me) wish for TOR going forward.

All we are saying is: More of a *balance* between the currently dominated 'themepark' style and the more classic long-term oriented 'living sandbox' style.

Just more of a balance. That's all.

Is that so difficult to comprehend, Mr. YAAAWWWWWNNNNN?
Never tell me the odds!

And WoW did do a update last Dec which was the cross server Looking for Raid tool which has allowed a ton of players to experence the end game content and defeat Deathwing.
No your quiting because you refuse to leave a dead server even though you have been given a free option to xfer. stamping feet and shouting for mommy doesnt constitute solid thinking and reasoning. Ow and FYI lfr wasnt content, it was access to content, the last content was dragonsoul.

Oh yeah I agree with you.

The biggest thing blocking this is really the original mandate Lucasarts invoked when they commissioned this game: Make Star Wars WoW. The posters claiming impossibility or market invalidity are just riding on LAs fail coattails.

If they keep to this same formula over the life of the game it just won't be able to hold large numbers of players contiguously.

Forgive me if this has been brought up, but I don't want to sift through pages of this thread. It really sounds like what you're asking for is for the game to be more like pre-cu Star Wars Galaxies. I say this not to put you down, but out of nostalgia.

I think that TOR could definitely stand to take a leaf out of the SWG book. That game made you feel TRULY immersed. I am loving TOR though .

With all it's flaws SWG was for me way moe inmersive than SW:TOR with all its voice acting and storylines.
You were free to do anything you wanted and that freedom was what really made you feel a true SW universe galaxy citizen. There was no need of a storyline.
And there was always something to do beside combat. I spent almost more time dancing and playin music in cantinas with my Twi'lek entertainer than fighting. Even I was a slave dancer in Jabba's palace What can be more inmersive than be a slave dancer in Jabba's palace? Oh, wait!, to be a Tie fighter pilot chasing an YT-1300. Or engage in a battle against a team of imperials with a couple of AT-ST. Or go to Tatooie to kill a Kryat dragon. Or just go hunt Rancors in Dathomir. Or just spend hours setting up your tatooine's house furniture. Or....

However, lack of inmersion is something we all knew that was going to happen when BW/EA decided make SW:TOR a themepark and its space content just a 20th century rail shooter.
I can't help but feel there must be some happy medium wherein elements of SWG could be implemented without hurting the original design of SWTOR.

Every week Sarfux posts another thread discovering another grassy shooter in the knolls about why people *really* burn out on SWTOR - as opposed to the reasons that have been stated about 10.000 times now.

Or, it could be the reasons that were stated 10,000 times now - just compare this game with WoW (which isn't perfect but points the way) and note the deficiencies in end-game content, fluff, wide-open world exploration/questing and achievements beyond the story itself.

There is no conspiracy - it's obvious why people burn out on the game - it was designed and plays more like a single-player RPG than an MMO.

Unfortunately, 'we' are in the perceived minority.

To all those who didn't read and/or disagree: BioWare was warned about all this in early Beta, but they wanted it their way (aka EA's way) or no way (instead of a true balance of sandbox & theme-park) , consequently they and those of you who are content with this potentially good but ultimately squandered opportunity of a game will hopefully realize when it's FREE-TO-PLAY?

That's what happens when you cater to the "masses" too much and dumb-down your game for the lowest-common-denominators. Servers get merged, subscriptions get lost, industry respect gets diminished.

Oh well, there's always Star Wars 1313 and maybe SWG-2 someday.

At least BioWare/EA made a profit though...right? umm...right?
If you think SWG -2 will EVER come out then you are living in a dreamworld. Why in gods name would anyone make a game that failed as hard as SWG did? SWTOR has made more money in 6 months then SWG did in its entire 9 years.

Yup.
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill
Pretty much sums up this game.

Why don't you just create a post entitled: I don't care.

Same thing.
