What? Isnt about what you dont want, then in the same sentence you tell us what you dont want...

And of course it's my opinion, but your point isnt valid, it does not affect all players because it didnt affect me.

So, since I made my previous post when I was actually running out the door to have dinner with some friends lol...

If my tank can heal himself, what's the point of me, as a healer, playing at all? Khem Val actually already does something that heals himself and me to some extent; in other games it would be called a "life burn" or "death touch". He basically sucks the enemies health out of them. I understand that the O.P. wants to play very quickly and burn through enemies like they're nothing, but that's not really how I like to play. I LIKE healing my companion and throwing out the occaisional cc here or there, maybe burning down an add or two, but mainly just healing Khem. I don't care how fast or slow it goes becuase healing is fun for me. The solution to your problem is that you simply shouldn't play classes that rely heavily on tank companions for solo content. Or you could do everything in groups, since playing with actual people is much better than using companions anyway. But to ask BW to make tank companions self-healing would negate my role as a healer and pretty much make me unsub! I hope you understand, O.P., that you simply need to modify YOUR playstyle so that YOU enjoy the game and not ruin it for the rest of us!

It does, whether you choose to see it or not. Your only centering your whole point on a single character that you have. I am basing mine, on your other characters, both now and in the future. So yes, it does affect you.

And you misunderstand. This is a valid problem with tank companions, as i have already proven. It isnt about what i dont want - the fact that i decided to voice my personal opinions in the same paragraph is just adding to an already existing point. The point being that tank companions are NOT efficient. Healer and damage dealers are.
My time card ends on December 5th. I have no intent to subscribe, let alone play, after i have completed all 9 episodes of KotFE. Likely i will subscribe for a single month to finish off the ''season'', play what remains and then say good bye to SWTOR until the END of the next season. Enjoy Bioware!

Thanks for replying. However i do not refer to in-combat healing as you specify. Rather, the time between enemies and the fact that you need to fix your companion's health between each enemy.

Oh of course, I'm so sorry, you're right, I was referring to in combat healing. Since I play 3 healing classes I often don't distinguish between the out of combat heals and the in combat ones. My advice to you, since you clearly don't understand how the MMO genre works, is please go play Diablo 3 where apparently healing - in or out of combat - is totally in the control of each individual player. In all of the MMOs I've played, the tank is called a "meat shield" becuase he is dead unless he has a healer constantly on his butt healing him up. If you are not a healing class it is just dumb to play with a tank companion. In fact, in other MMOs there is NO out of combat health regen ability and you just have stand around waiting for health/mana to come back. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent standing around on my ranger in EQ2 waiting for her health to regen cuz she just got her butt whooped by some giants.

Personally I hate playing a Merc BECAUSE I needed a traige healer (Mako) to support me. I've also found that the Commando is similar in that regard - it feels more comfortable to play with Dorn as my back - up on the way up to 50. However I also know a lot of really great Merc healers (not so many Commandos) who have done just fine on the level up. Its actually a WAAAY faster class to level up than the sorc or sage (in light armour).

It sounds to me like you have a problem with the fact that it takes a while to heal yourself, because you simply don't have the patience to play MMOs. Please go back to your fast-paced, adrenaline pumping FPS games and leave the nice MMO people alone.

Thank you

Played it. Finished it. Came back to SWTOR. Reached level cap and said ''what now??" And here i am.

As for the note on Sorcerers, i actually heard the other way around, that they are one of the most expedient classes in the game? My own is only ~25ish so i cant really comment on leveling speed.

Ive spent a good 8 or so years playing MMO's AS A HEALER. I have not played a FPS game since 2142 Battlefield as i do not like fast paced games at all. And another point - i was never in the whole thread referring to healing myself, rather the tank companion.

Tanks are somewhat efficient, it's just they require much more gear than the other companions. On my sniper I use kaliyo and she survives 2 sometimes 3 packs of weaks and 1 strong. Of course my sniper is level 50 and kaliyo is using level 49 blues which isn't that great, however; my sniper is in full purples. But I do remember it being a pain to level up and do some of the class quests, kaliyo would just die.

But on the other hand I am now leveling an operative with about +300 presence bonus from legacy alone. My operative is a healer but tell you thee truth I feel like i am dps as I can literally keep going from pack to pack with no end and with little time. now i am not sure if the credit is to the +300 or the fact that m y Operative is a healer or both?

With that said I still think tanks can use a little (not a lot) armor buff.

Exactly. Im not stating companion tanks are crap and that they should be removed blah blah... no im saying they need a solid reason for being there. I mean overall, not for just one or two classes. Tank companions just take too much damage as it is, and if they give them a small buff to help their survivability - not much but ''enough'' then it will most likely solve everything about them.

This is a complete non-issue...OP, with all due respect, you haven't proven anything other than if it's in the game, someone will complain about it.

I think the tanking companions are fantastic with gear and the occasional stun/interrupt/mez/debuff/defensive cooldown from the person in charge.....they end up with a lot more life after a fight.
