It's ridiculous.
So the game should stay at 50 forever "Just for You"? yea i say do that for him BW cause he is, wait, who are you?
All MMOs move the cap, its the way the game is, deal with it.

You are the one playing the game for yourself. Don't let others dictate how you play the game.

You don't have to be level cap as soon as possible. You don't have to have the best gear instantly.

Enjoy the game for yourself and play how you want to play. If you want to take your time leveling, that's fine. The journey is just as important (if not more so!) as the destination. You don't have to get the best gear possible, you can do what you want and run flashpoints or work on your legacy and all the other things to unlock and do.

Don't let others dictate how you play. Don't let others force you to rush to level cap. Don't let others force you to grind out the best gear. Don't let others look down on you for not doing it. If you let others force you to play the game how they want you to play, you won't enjoy it and you won't have fun.

Who cares if there is a level increase? It just means more storyline and more to do. More game for you to experience and play.
^ This. I can't believe people would want to limit the potential of the game for such an arbitrary dislike.

It was a bit ridiculous in WoW but that is because they added 10 levels and the gear curve in WoW was very steep.

SWTOR may not add all that many levels (I have heard 5) and the gear curve is much shallower.

Columi = Level 56 (+6)
Rakata = Level 58 (+8)
Campaign/BH = Level 61 (+11)
(Currently Unavailable) Denova = Level 63 (+13)

Assuming we get 5 levels with the cap increase, BH/Campaign will become the new Columi, and Denova gear (in the data files, but not available yet) will become the new Rakata..
It may not even be that much, It could be that Rakata becomes the new Columi and they add 1 new level of gear (Level 65 or 66). The only gear that would really be invalidated would be Tionese, and that may just be used to replace daily comms mods which would mean more options in that grind.

Even only adding 5 levels the gear grind has got to be there. Otherwise what is the point? Yeah story drives the character's progression, but gear allows that progression. Gear also makes people re-play the same content multiple times. I doubt there are many people who play solely for the story, and I doubt that same player would week after week run the same operation without reward. Gear is that reward. If I can go from 50-55 without needing to change out of my current gear at least half way, I am going to be seriously pissed.

and thats exactly why the current end game isnt perfect oir working

it doesnt feel like end game!

getting to 50 and outfitted currently feels like getting to level 20 was in EQ and level 35 in DAoC, and level 50 in WOW.

Nothing is special,
nothing is unique
nothing has that feel of accomplishment and pride attatched to it

I am really hoping the level increase (say to level 60). That getting 50-60 will take 5 times as long as getting 1-50 did.

and then appropriate difficulty setting (say all mobs are level 50 strong and up toughness equivilant).

PS: WOWs level curve was a flat line, across the screen, it WAS NOT DIFFICULT!
hell, I play games on easy setting and normal setting and WOW level curve to me was EASIER then any single player easy setting!
If you think WOWs level curve was difficult,

well I cry for the future of gaming
I seriously do.
In regards to lessening F2P and Preferred restrictions
In GAMING, as in LIFE,
You get what you pay for
No game restriction is so dire that $15.00/month will not eliminate it

i think they really need to fix everything wrong with the game before they work on giving people new levels...such as paid character transfers...and other things

you had 2 years in wow from when the game came online to get to sixty. just because you either started playing late or only 5 hours a week doesnt mean everyone else needs to wait nor stay at the same level because of you.

personally i think any level increase in the first year of any mmo is too soon. during its second year is acceptable like most have and are doing. if anyone thinks mmos shouldn't have level increases you are playing the wrong games as the all do and will continue to do so.

I think by next summer would be a good time to implement one.. not yet IMO, still far to many features are not well done.

Alignment
Nightmare modes of existing content
Guild Improvement
Ilum revamp
name change
basic cash shop improvement (or free stuff)
x64 support

the games level cap should of been level 60, full with content to scale included tbh. They fell short at the end game because you play this epic story and then hit a brick wall at lvl 50 where the game magically becomes a standard MMO where you raid, and pvp, and worry about stats all the time. The level cap should of been 60, and the 2nd part of the personal story should of been ready to deploy shortly after launch.

By next summer I want to see:
  • massive space upgrades
  • new, innovative forms of content being added details on that up to bioware tbh
  • next phase of the personal story already implemented, and hopefully the follow up to that being hinted.
  • revamp to Ilum and additional wPvP content
  • Several new story/questing planets to have already been added, more on the way tbh
  • more content with ships, and ship customization added
  • improvements made to existing content, making each planet feel more dynamic and alive.
  • a couple of real alien-like species such as nautolon's, rodian's, and togrutas. Any of those work for me tbh
  • mini games such as pazaak and pod races
  • much quicker update schedule, and big events to usher in new major content updates like Trion does with RIFT on both counts tbh. BioWare moves too slowly, and if they have one of the largest development teams in the industry even after the EA layoffs then I see no good reason for them not to speed things up to compete. ^----this is the most important one.
