not so much without technology they just need to be taught the truth that in the real world they are not really as entitled or special as their parents lead them to believe...

I grew up with almost as much technology as kids have today and never developed the entitled attitude... tho my parents where very clear with teaching me "how life really is" and then I went straight into the Corps.

You want a free day? Really? That's like 50 cents.
Looking for a good woman. Able to clean, cook, sew, catch bait, and clean fish. Must have boat and motor.
((Please send picture of boat and motor))

how many times have WoW given out free time, and lotro when that was pay to play i know lotro never did
WoW never did either, one thing your subcription covers is Maintenance. most new MMO's have alot more downtime than SWTOR is having. ppl need to play F2P games if $ .50 a day is that big a deal to them.

There were definitely a lot of people saying 1.3 wasn't ready.....and there were certainly some things that should have been tested and fixed before it was released.....like the augment issue. However, once the character transfers hit, there was hardly anyone on the PTS. I'd hop on there and there'd be like 5 people on the entire Fleet on the PTS. Pre-transfers, there were a lot more people on there but I found that most of them were either just trying to earn the player titles from the PTS or they were there because their server had a low pop so they had more people to play with on the PTS. There were some dedicated testers, for sure, but the player testing was pretty paltry, for the most part.

I haven't done an extensive reading of the EULA, but I don't remember seeing it guarantee 24 hour access, 7 days a week to the SWTOR servers.

And what is the appeal of a free day anyway? Your account just renews a day later the next month...big deal.

I was extremely angry at Bioware for all the maintenance they were doing, however I would be happier getting assurances that everything is now working fine and that there will be no more emergency maintenance 3 or 4 times a week. I don't care about getting free time, as long as the time I paid for allows me access to the game.

You are correct. I already apologized when someone else pointed it out, but I'll apologize to you as well. After I received the initial email about the level 50s I didn't need to pay attention anymore. I didn't see they changed the requirements when they extended the deadline.

Funny. I thought the implementation of the Cartel Store was the Rise of the Hutt Cartel. And no, I do not like what that story has to offer. I keep getting screwed in it.

See, they don't expect you to play the game 24/7. I don't know about you, but I don't stay up till 2 in the morning playing this game. The developers for SWTOR try to make the most convenient hours possible for server downtime, and in reality, the downtimes aren't that long, and happen about once a week. Sure, right now they're doing more than expected, BUT GOD HOW GOOD IS THIS GAME?? They make mistakes, and they have to fix them. Or would you rather have a buggy game?

Honestly, I do think BioWare has done a great job overall with the downtime and the maintenance windows are usually far shorter than other games I've played. The issue isn't one of whether or not one should expect regularly scheduled downtime or even unexpected downtime. The OP is not in the United States. That is the crux of his issue. The downtime (usually from 3am - 7am EST) is late night / early morning for us. For the OP (and many others on the other side of the globe) that downtime is during their primetime. If our servers went down during Primetime there would be plenty of us in the U.S. complaining about that.

His issue has merit even if his proposed solution does not (to us.. to him it's perfectly legitimate).

My question is this: Why not just have different maintenance downtimes for different parts of the world to ensure their downtime coincides with their off-peak hours? I'm talking significant time changes. Perhaps have a maintenance window for the U.S. and have a different maintenance window for Europe and another for Asia. I'm just curious, now.
