Space bar is your friend

Yes - some people haven't seen the scenes before. The vast majority of us have -many, many times, so many times. oh man. so so many. We are the 99%. We are more likely to be there for loot /commendations and some of us have jobs and don't want to spend 90 minutes in 1 flashpoint.

I'd suggest you do what we do, which is ask the group what their preference is. I'm happy to leave a group if 3/4ths don't want a space-bar run and likewise it shouldn't a big deal to find another group if 3/4ths do want to do a space-bar run.

I can assure you that I won't be the one getting kicked from my LFG groups. I tend to run with at least 1or 2 other guildies, so getting 3 votes to kick won't happen and will more than likely backfire on the initiator (who'll more than likely be the odd-man out) and they'll be replaced by a companion, who will probably do a better job than they're doing without the attitude.

I don't mind waiting for someone to see it the first time. I wanted to see it the first time too.

But I'm the type of guy who you will almost never watch a movie twice. It has to be an amazing movie for me to do so. Once I've seen it already I could care less to see it again. 99% of the different choices give you the result end the end as far as dialog goes. Only difference comes down to companion affection and light/dark side. First one having no use in a general flashpoint run(4 players that is). And both of them ending at a cap.

To me the cut scenes ruin the flow of the flashpoints. It halts them to do talky stuff.

What they need to add is a "skip" option. Sacrificing any bonus social points and any light/dark choices. You get the standard 4 per choice. Any important choices can be asked upon if needed. Or just pick the higher average light//dark side as the final choice if everyone chooses to skip.

It's nice that they wanted to do something new such as add all this voice acting and story. But in the end what it will feel like is that we've been taken out of the action and environment for a cut scene.

TLR, if it's your first run, they can suck it up. After that please spacebar.

Here's a list showing what they all drop (on the empire side):

As far as skipping cutscenes, I am a fan of this because I have seen them all. If you want to watch them, you don't have to skip them. Play your game and make them wait. They may kick you, but I suppose that's a risk you'll have to take. As the above post states, it might be a good idea to mention to the group that you want to watch them before the run.
Not true they do drop columni stuff. I run with guildmates and most do drop columni or exotech stuff they changed the loot tables ontop of getting legacy points.

The only suggestion I have for you is to maybe ask before starting, "Hey guys, I haven't been before and would like to watch the cut scenes, anyone have a problem with that or should i find a replacement that has been here before?"

I think most people would be more accommodating just from getting the heads up
just demand BW to add an option to skip ALL cut scenes into the LFG tool,
so ppl want to see that scenes can find their own kind.

Stop being so anal about it.

just solo the normal FPs by urself,
it would be more enjoyable.

Well, while spacebar-ing through FP one can omit quite a fun run. Yesterday I was leveling my Smuggler, LFG Essels. Grp composition was:
Gunslinger Smuggler (me)
Scoundrel Smuggler
Trooper (heal)
Jedi Consular (tank)

People were fantastic with comments (Scoundrel thrown "this is not an Ambassador you are looking for" comment when Killrian hailed us) and our Consular blown engineering crew through the air lock. Scoundrel, again, commented that someone is not following the jedi code. We had a good laugh through entire FP.

In the end we decided to leave Ambassador. Idea came from our "noble" Jedi, everyone agreed while still throwing comments about "ebil jedi".

Sure - I saw that FP multiple times. It took considerably longer than space-bar run. But I was much more sastisfied after that run than any other.

dont indulge them for a second.
If you wanna watch the clips, you watch them. They never last longer than 15-20 seconds between dialogue choice so who honestly gives a crap. People talk about it like its the lack of spacebarring that makes it take so long. Its not, its usually the people in groups who dont spacebar are hitting it for the first time and so probably arent outgearing the run. If saving yourself a few minutes by skipping cutscenes is so mimportant to you, then come back in a few levels and youll be going at the pace you want.

Is this the fate of a story driven mmo to skip the one thing that makes this game unique?

Bio needs to turn off the option to spacebar in flashpoint.

Should people be forced to skip content just for the sake of speedrun?
Most times, players are announcing (or SHOULD announce) that they are specifically doing a flashpoint as a speed run.

If you want to run that flashpoint with them, you need to accept the parameters of the engagement. Otherwise, pass on the opportunity and let someone else join them who is willing to spacebar through it.

if it was just an ordinary group doing a flashpoint, and they were all hounding you, that's really a different story. Your tactic of just leaving the group was probably best. No need to hang around jerks like that.

But just make sure they aren't announcing that they are intentionally doing a speed run before you join. People who join speed runs and sit there delaying every option, or choosing options which shorten the flashpoint (like a certain decision in Esseles) are EXTREMELY annoying.

Indeed, that link is to a 1.2 loot list, and the patch notes improved a lot of drops in 1.3.

I think one of the issues with spacebar is that if everyone isn't doing it, it's more frustrating if you do, as the conversation flows badly and you're just waiting for the options. If I spacebar and discover that everyone isn't, I just stop and sit back and relax, so that the flow is better. I've not yet seen anyone ask anyone to spacebar, probably due to it being an RP server and players being a bit more patient. I also worry that someone who wants to rush conversations will also want to rush the content, and might pull when they shouldn't and wipe us. That can cost much more time than a conversation.
