And like i said no Operation requires vent or voice, if it did voice would be part of the game.

Did you use Voice to Text technology to do so or did you press your fingers against the keys on the keyboard?

Apparently millions of people can type (even if they type very poorly). Need proof? Check out www.twitter.com. Millions of people who have absolutely nothing interesting to say manage typing just fine. Many of them do it while driving which is far more difficult than typing while killing a raid boss.

I'm not deaf, but I do not enjoy listening to people blah blah blah about whatever they think is clever or interesting. I will enter vent for ops just because it is easier but only in my guild's vent or for a special circumstance (like a multi-guild event). Even when I run an Op, I'll type the necessary information because I don't discriminate against people who prefer to not use 3rd party software. The reasoning for not wanting to use it is irrelevant.

I've seen people kicked from groups because the sound of their voice is "annoying" or the way they speak just as often as being kicked for playing poorly. It's pathetic and sad.

The people who would kick me because I don't want to listen to them feel self-important don't matter to me. These are the same type of people who won't let me heal as a Mercenary because "force-using healers are much more effective" and make me play as DPS because "statistically, the DPS of a Mercenary is far greater than that of a sniper." Eh, I'll play my own way and be just as successful... thanks anyway.
What if the OP was just trolling? When you give limited information and just have a one line in your post, you're not going to get much support. You're assuming that what he writes in his further posts are true. So I'm not the only one who assumes.

Matters not if the op is trolling or not, they hit on a point that people feel strong on. Doesnt matter if people who cant hear have vent on there pc or not, they could even log into it. you could talk to them till the cows come home and they wont hear a thing you say. But there is a way around it you know, your comprehending the technique right now.

Infact alot of what has been said in here is against the law in most countrys as discrimination and Victimisation.

Honestly, your all wasting your time, every good piece of advice you give the OP, he has an answer for.

Vent is free, and 10% safe to use, you don't have to talk, even more so you keep saying you use Skype to talk to your friends, that fine, vent wont change that, you can use vent for ops (to listen), and then close it and use Skype, easy.

Maybe not for the Story-Mode versions, but for Hard Mode OPS and Nightmare Mode Ops, you do need voice communication software, and i refuse to raid without it, regardless of weather im group leader.

If a guy approaches me and says we need a tank can you do it, ill ask if he is using Mumble/Team-speak/Vent/Raid-call, all of which i have and take up less than half a gigabyte on my system, if the group is not using one of these, i wont take part, especially considering as a tank i need to be able to quickly communicate, if i loose aggro, the player who gets it can quickly tell me, or if i need the secondary tank to take aggro for a second whilst i get some health back, i can tell them to. It also makes it easier to tell the group when a boss has Enraged, because when in enraged mode, by the time i can stop to type it, im dead, which makes me a useless tank.

I recommend you download vent at least, it wont cause you any problems, and 90% of the guilds out there are willing to take you on if your willing to just listen.

On the other hand i agree with the other side of this just as much, kicking people from groups because of voice chat is ridiculous, and makes for a bad community, and it is not only voice chat that people are kicked for, but because people who feel they are as InnerPieces said "Self important" have better gear than you.

regardless, i do not see a solution to this problem in the foreseeable future, as this plagues every MMO, and no gamer can say otherwise without it being a lie

You're just going off the deep end now.

Let's look at the facts:

1. Vent/Mumble/TS are all free, safe/secure, and small downloads. They are not at all prohibitive to acquire.
2a. No content "needs" voice comms. The game doesn't really need a keyboard either, but that doesn't make clicking everything any less retarded.
2b. Voice comms are a lot more efficient. Sure, I can type at about 70wpm, or 100+ if I actually try. That's still much slower than voice. On top of that, typing out commands during an encounter is close to impossible.
3. You don't have to have a headset, or talk. 99% of raid leaders will just want you to be able to hear their instructions/callouts.

If you refuse to download a small, free program so that you can facilite a smoother, more efficient group experience for everyone... you're kind of a jerk.

Lets look at a more basic fact, deaf, cant hear you, so whats the use of that program now for those people. So who is the jerk now.

Quick question: Why would a deaf person buy a game that is lauded for it's "Voice Acting"?

Fact of the matter is that even though someone may be deaf, they can still get Ventrilo and just turn it on, even if they cannot hear. Then those operation group leaders wont kick the person as long as they know what's going on and when to do what.
