If it's my first time through a flashpoint I usually say so and people stop demanding that I spacebar. It's never been an issue where I've been hounded to spacebar after that.

Every group I have been in I always ask if someone hasn't done the FP before, then I kindly ask the rest of the group to allow that person/persons to view them. I always let people know if I haven't been to a certain FP before. I have never had anyone get angry or frustrated because someone wanted to watch the cutscenes.
If they have been to the FP before and has seen the cutscenes, then I ask the person who wants to see them (if someone wants to see them again regardless) if they would mind spacebaring through it if that is what the rest of the group wants. Even so, I haven't had anyone get angry for sacrificing themselves for the group in that way, nor have I seen anyone react if the person wants to see them again.

I'd say we have a very tolerant community around here, many idiots sure, but quite patient and tolerant of peoples wishes when it comes to cutscenes and FPs.

I always side with the person who wants to watch the story? Why? Because that's the kind of player I want to encourage - the spacebar monkeys - not so much.

Yeah just play how you want to play, I listen to the stories even though I have seen them already, if they start giving you a problem just ignore them. Done!

I am learning to use the LFG finder only for things that I've done before. I don't enjoy the pace that spacebarflys tend to run, I like getting my bonus quests, loot chests and lore objects, and rushing through just isn't fun to me.

As has been said before, captions help a lot for people in a rush group who actually want to try different dialogue options and farm light/dark or affection.
