The only suggestion I have for you is to maybe ask before starting, "Hey guys, I haven't been before and would like to watch the cut scenes, anyone have a problem with that or should i find a replacement that has been here before?"

I think most people would be more accommodating just from getting the heads up

I totally agree with this post; I love watching the cutscenes and don't mind watching them over and over but I spacebar because I know I am the outlier; what I hate is spacebarring to then have to wait for someone else; because now I am missing the content I would like to see and having to wait for someone else to watch it. If you are in my group and you say, "this is my first time I want to watch it" I will follow it up with, "Sure I am totally down for watching them!"

At least that's what I do, I ask if everyone can spacebar, if I'm doing a speedrun. If someone say no, well, no problem.
You're one of the good ones. Now if only we had a "whitelist" function in addition to ignore.

"speed run" (space bar thru FPs).

Better yet, no cutscenes in those at all anymore except for the dark/light side point choices a quick option. I suggested this during beta already, as it was easily foreseen that the current thing would be happening.

How can you tell exactly? We all get the dialogue window at the same time. If I skip through the dialogue ... all I see is the waiting for group prompt while I wait for the others the finish, the roll icons say "...", and thats it. If I start joining in on the "spacebar!" crap no one would know the difference unless the other 3 knew each other.

Id love to just make some ahole wait and go through the frustration of not knowing who it is while he raged at everyone to spacebar.

OP it was your first time, but for many of us, we have ran it countless times... I myself have ran Black Talon AT LEAST 100 times, so spacebar is our friend in the HM FP's and even the Operations.
If you want to watch the cutscenes, that's your choice, but please let the group know that's your intention so they can leave if they want.

OP you play how you want and don't go through the trouble of letting people know it's your first time in a FP. Yes I spacebar through content that I have seen but if someone else doesn't it's safe to assume they want to see the content and that's ok. People need to be more understanding and if it bothers them that much then they can join FP's with people they know. It's rediculus that people who want to see content now have to gain the permission to do so.

Geting rid of that spacbar option would be a profoundly stupid move. You want to see subs bleed? Make it so no one can ever skip a convo or scene.

A better solution would be a flag in the group finder that filters whether you are willing to spacebar or not. Or you could just ask.

or be group master,so if they get mad at you for insane amounts of cutscene watching on your part, you can kick them at the most utterly inappropriate times, llike right before a boss is dead

Excellent idea.
But then people that want to see the cutscenes would QQ because they can't get a group.

I think the problem here is, Thunder, that by announcing it, players open themselves up to being insulted and lambasted for not doing things a certain way. If we follow John Gabriel's Greater Internet F*ckwad Theory (given the profanity in the comic this originally was founded, I'm not going to link to it, you can google it), it would logically follow that one should do one's utmost to protect oneself from ridicule.

Since you can't see who is "holding up" the group, best suggestion I can give to those who want to see the story is to play how you play and the spacebar players can leave if the run is taking too long for them.
