Unless they've "Fixed" it, it doesn't. (or if it does, I'd REALLY like to know where...) It says "Waiting on players" until everybody is at the choice selection, so it's not like you can figure out who you're waiting for by who doesn't (yet) have a dialog roll... all that would tell you is who is slow to pick an option.

"speed run" (space bar thru FPs).

This would be a great idea, though it will probably never ever happen.

You're choice is simple, watch all the cutscenes, risking a kick... or spacebar through it and run it normally.

If you enjoy, or have yet to see many of the cutscenes, the 'low level' version has it all. Anything below Colicoid wargames is very easily solo'd as a 50.
This is an issue in on-level flashpoint runs, too. Just did my favorite, "Maelstrom Prison" last night on my level-37 Sage. One of the members of our pick-up group was doing it for the first time, and wanted to watch the cutscenes. Another player was urging everyone to spacebar through them. As we advanced, his pleas became increasingly strident. I'd done this FP several times on multiple characters, so I had no problem spacebarring through, but when I reached a dialogue wheel, I had no worries whatsoever waiting for the other player to catch up.

And in the end, I just made sure the chat window was invisible, and kicked back and enjoyed the final cutscene. It's still one cutscene I enjoy watching in full. And the whiner got plenty of phat lewt, while my guy (as usual) got skunked.

Is this the fate of a story driven mmo to skip the one thing that makes this game unique?

Bio needs to turn off the option to spacebar in flashpoint.

Should people be forced to skip content just for the sake of speedrun?
Yea.. I ran into that. The solution is, before you start, you make it clear that you need to see the cutscenes as this is your first run through. If the group has a problem with that, you drop and they can que up again. Trust me, however reluctantly, most groups will not want to get back in line to wait for a spacebar fiend.

In my experience though, most folks do understand and are happy to oblige. After all the cutscenes aren't too terribly long and it gives the group time to discuss the upcoming boss.

Oh, and one more thing, the "speeders" on occasion forget to respond and we end up waiting for them to realize they have to do something. Brings a big smile to my face.

Just tell them that it is your first time playing the flashpoint and you want to watch the cut scenes. I do that and I may have already seen the cut scene. I do it if someone yells "SPACEBAR!!!". Impatience has no place in my group. I'll make em wait if I think they are irritatated with me. They didn't pay for my subscription and have no right to tell me to skip content I am paying for. If I join a flashpoint. I accept that some may want to watch the cut scenes. I will space bar through content, but if I notice someone else watching it I will not say anything. Let them watch it and take a drink of my soda while they do so. People need to learn to relax and take it easy on other people.
Anything that is done repetitively can be done by a computer. That is why right brained people will eventually rule the world.

Seriously? Someone complains that people are QQing in group chat about space-bar and most of you are telling him/her that s/he is wrong? Yeah not going to lie, I would probably complain about someone not hitting space-bar in Black Talon not likely for the Esseles, as I have only run it a few times, but only if I used group finder and/or someone said something about space-barring through the cut scenes. Every single one of us pay the same $15 a month to play this game, every single one of us is just as entitled to all of the content as everyone else. If you don't want to watch the cut scene, that's fine, but if you use the vote to kick option to try to intimidate someone into space-barring through cut scenes then I hope Bioware applies their bullying policy to you, and permanently bans you from playing SWTOR. How dare any of you act like that.

First thing you should do is politely ask people, before starting the FP, to let you watch the cutscenes! I've never found a group who wouldn't let someone watch the cutscenes, if asked politely, but every group is a story on its own!

Regarding bonuses, there are 2 kinds of them! First kind, you have to kill a certain amount of npcs, or to use a certain amount of objects, and then they are done: people in speed run will say they are time consuming, but they are not, as objectives are usually along the path, and quick to use.
Second kind, you have to do all of the above, multiple times, then kill a boss: those are really time consuming, and usually very difficult, but also yeald rewards such as tionese or columi pieces/tokens, so they are also worth doing... I advise you to avoid them, if the group is not well geared and concentrated, because they tend to end in multiple wipes, which are not good for your pocket!

The chat window and them waiting on the convo wheel to pop up. My normal response is that someone must have some lag if people are QQing about space-bar, if that doesn't quiet them down, well then I make sure to add to it. Also I might be a little slower on picking my convo wheel option, I think that is what they meant on the showing option.

Don't use the LFG tool if you want people who actually go through the dialogues and not just farm bosses like crazy.

Remember that a lot of players are stuck with the mentality of MUST FARM...MUST...FARM...NOW! And there is little hope to change their attitude.

I think it should be the contrary. Asking politely if you can have a fast run. The game have plenty of cutscene, so the default choice is to watch them.
At least that's what I do, I ask if everyone can spacebar, if I'm doing a speedrun. If someone say no, well, no problem.
