twitter is also better designed for direct feedback. Why use a lesser set up like forums when you could use a more streamlined system?
What is many? If you compare the number of posts on these forums and the number of messages on FB and TW, you will realize that the community is far more active on the forums than on FB and TW combined.

Okay, so if the lettering isn't size 10, times new roman, and hot pink... IT'S NOT OFFICIAL IN MY BOOK!
Last time I checked, the Star Wars: The Old Republic website was www.swtor.com. Last time I checked, the "community" address was www.swtor.com/community. So one would think that these are the main methods of communication to be used by Bioware.
My Star Wars: The Old Republic account is on www.swtor.com, not on FB or TW.

I'd like you to support your claim. At least I can support mine. You write 'many.' How many? I wrote that everyone CAN access this website, because you must create an account to play the game. I never wrote that many or few people come here. Ease of access would start here. When creating an account, you are set up here, you don't have to create a facebook account, or twitter account. Then the rest is just your opinion. Forums are setup for direct feedback too. Post a larger article than twitter. You also only get registered member's feedback unlike Twitter and Facebook.

Honestly, I think the community team is being dealt a poor hand internally. They have nothing to talk about or to discuss because the development team moves at a snails pace. I do believe they compile feed back from the forums and present it to others.

I also think they are at a transitioning point internally trying to figure out where to take the game and what to do after the last few rough months. The community team has to sit on their hands until they figure this all out. Both lotro and AoC went through the exact same thing. /shrug

If anything, turn this thread into a constructive discussion on what the community would like to talk about with those guys and gals. Then they might come out and play if they aren't being screamed at. It also can't be all gimme gimme stuff from everyone. /2cents

They'll just have a moderator link the community Q&A thread.

Yet most players probably don't visit the SWTOR website on a daily basis because they are busy doing things like living their life and not trolling these forums. There are people who don't even read patch notes because they would rather log in and play than sit and read about what they could be doing. Twitter and Facebook make perfect sense because any gamer can just follow or like the game and glance new information via those mediums while they go about their daily business and routine. Especially considering there are more fb and tw users than SWTOR subscribers.

I try not to spend much time digging through the forums here because they are filled with wasteful garbage such as this entire thread. Why should I waste hours of my time sifting through this sea of filth when the dev's give a delightful recap of interesting stuff every week. I think BW is doing more than enough to communicate with us. Just because they don't communicate how you wished they would doesn't mean they aren't communicating at all.

You refusing to use facebook or twitter is on par with the people who don't spend half their day on these forums or hovering over the dev's like a bunch of crack addicts looking for a fix. The information is there in multiple mediums for those who actually want to know or communicate.

Well, how about they just talk about things. You know, like the rest of the players are. I would like to see some more relaxed dev posts here and there and less copy-paste responses.
Perhaps they would like to talk about their last completed flashpoint, perhaps they would like to talk about SW lore, perhaps they want to talk about off-topic stuff in the off-topic section of the forums.
Perhaps they want to give short 2-3 sentences replies to various questions on the forums, not necessarily related to the game.
Perhaps they can give their opinion on how they think the better skill tree specs are for a certain role, perhaps they can share the item/mod builds they use, perhaps they can share screenshots of their characters in-game doing stuff.

185,233 Followers on its twitter.

if swtor has about 1million players, that's almost 20% of its base.

As someone else said in this thread. Most mmos only have about 1%-5% of its player base active on its forums.
Ganking leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to pvp.
The Swtor forum attracts trolls because the forums are more fun than raiding dragon soul.
Complaining is the new meta game.

Read one of my next posts... at least here on the website, the feedback is sure to be only from registered members.
All I ask is just one or two more topics. I don't care what about, as long as it's about the game. The information is not there in multiple mediums, because then they'd at least post everything here and there. So the information is there on some mediums, but not all.

Ok, nice support, but then you go with a statement that you cannot support. Not even the person who wrote it first can confirm it.

Now tell me, how many of this 185,233 followers are registered and current players of SWTOR? For all I know, only 10k of those followers are actually playing the game, which throws your 20% out the window.
