It certainly feels that way sometimes...
There's no problem that can't be solved with overwhelming firepower.

As a healer having done these FPs a million times across a multitude of toons, if the tank is slow at chain pulling, then I pull myself.

Thank you.
I ask them nicely to stop and let me pull. If they dont I let them tank it. After all, as the tank, im the one with the instant queue, not them. I usually run with a healer friend so thats even worse for them. Ill put uo with a bad dps, hitting enrage timers, or making mistakes, but have zero tolerance for an idiot who doesnt listen or wont work together with others.

I'm still learning to tank in SWtOR, so at the beginning of every FP and some heroics I make that known up front and say that advice is welcome. After we're done I ask for feedback again.

By the time I start doing HM's I want to be a good tank that healers like. The kind that make them breathe a sigh of relief after the first real fight.

LOL! God, memories. I used to heal a lot in WoW, went through what you're going through on a constant basis. I feel you.

I actually did this to a guildie on an KP run last week, except I was tanking. After the Jarg and Sorno fight, he ran into the group of womp rats and hit force storm. Once he died, I AoE taunted and the rest of the group finished them off. Needless to say, he didn't run off and initiate combat again that run.

I can agree with the OP. People do stupid things, and it's not limited to a single role. I've been lucky (sarcasm) enough to get in some groups with some, in my opinion, really stupid tanks. Sometimes it's a simple mistake, but when the same thing happens repeatedly, just say something to them. Maybe they don't know that they're doing something the hard way and just need a little friendly advice. Don't be an *** about it. You never know, they may take your advice and become better for it. If they don't listen and still do things stupidly, then put them on your /ignore list and you'll never have to group with them again through the LFG tool.

He laid it out pretty clearly right there. As a healer, he feels that he shouldn't have to cope with mindless tanks that are busy coping with mindless DPS. I'm not sensationalizing anything, there are just a lot of healers out there that truly believe their job is actually difficult, and that they aren't just playing a video game like the rest of us, and those healers tend to get trapped in the idea that they are performing a duty that the rest of us are simply incapable of, which of course, they aren't.

As someone with at least one character that can fulfill each of the three roles, I can't disagree more. None of the roles are particularly difficult or requiring of extra effort so long as you have even a basic grasp on the role that you are fulfilling. He's just a butthurt healer that thinks he's working more than anyone else in the group is, probably because he isn't as great at his chosen role as he would like to believe.

Also, communication goes a long way, instead of telling abunch of randoms on the forums not to be idiots in groups, why doesn't he just get a bit more proactive and start telling people what to do in the FPs? Just a tip, people don't get better at the game because you made a rage post on the forums, they get better at the game when you teach them a thing or two while they are in your group. It's really the only way to improve things *NOW* when it matters.
You seem a bit butthurt, but I got the feeling.

Indeed, some healers feel like the Knights Hospitaller doing their noble and divine duty.

Not my case though, I didn't mention the douchebag healers because I never met them as I am always healing (I only play healer classes), and when on Ops, the other healer is always someone I know and trust.

But feel free to report cases of douchy healers, sure there are plenty.

It is easy to blame some DPS for causing problems, but when a fight starts, any decent tank should be able to do something to gain the aggro. I am normally a tank, but when I've used my DPS for group finder I have been kicked for starting fights because no one, not tanks, not healers, not dps, want to start a fight first. I start one so we don't get waste 10 minutes just staring at trash and get insulted them kicked for it.

Ultimately the people who should be blamed are those who can not play for fun and take it way too seriously. A tank not starting a fight, oh the horrors!

As a tank you should know that initial agro is very important. And, depending on the tank you have (Sith Warrior) they may spend even more time trying to wrangle up loose adds that are on you. If your tank isn't comfortable pulling sooner, what makes you think he's going to do a good job of mob wrangling after you pull?
