Is BW suddenly incapable of creating additional level 50 content? Stuff about the same difficulty as the class story follow-up on Ilum? We've spent hours grinding dailies for the 126 mods from there, and now we'll have to do it all again someplace else? Why not let us "casual" players continue to just have some with the alts we worked so hard on without making us grind more.

Not that I wouldn't mind another 5 skill points so I'm torn on this issue. o_O
Why would you play more story if you didn't get anything from it?

You get Legacy XP and credits, but you're better off grinding dailies than you are doing more story if you're not leveling your character and progressing a meaningful way.
I'll probably die if you group with me, but I'll go out with both lightsabers drawn stabbing someone in the face. Probably you, but it's cool. Forever Shenanigans!!

I'm not a fan of Level Cap increases.
Honestly, level cap just seems like an easy and lazy way to give the players a feeling they're "progressing" their characters, gaining more power..but it's really just an unimportant number outside of end-game content, If you're not the current level cap and doing relevant content toward that, you're not entirely advancing your character. It means little if you're 50 and working on the Battle master gear and they raise the cap five levels, now suddenly all that work is pretty useless if the stats on your gear is completely sub-par compared to even mid 50's greens.

Can't freeze the game at 50 forever, folks. Get used to it.

Why's that, exactly?

They've already laid the foundation to prevent that in this game though. Take a look at the numbers in parentheses on your endgame gear, that's their effective level.

Tionese = Level 51 (+1)
Columi = Level 56 (+6)
Rakata = Level 58 (+8)
Campaign/BH = Level 61 (+11)
(Currently Unavailable) Denova = Level 63 (+13)

Assuming we get 5 levels with the cap increase, BH/Campaign will become the new Columi, and Denova gear (in the data files, but not available yet) will become the new Rakata.

If you look at the stat jump from Columi to Rakata, you can estimate the stat jump we will receive when the level is raised, and it isn't that much. Even the change from Rakata (+8) -> BH (+11) is a small gain or even a loss for some people, so if they put in a new set to be equivalent to that (would be 66, assuming 5 level increase), it won't be too terribly overpowering.

You do realize that the level cap will also increase the gear requirements...you understand this right? It is going to happen regardless of whether you like it or not. It is the model of modern MMOs. Perhaps games in the future will change this, but for right now that's the way it is. You can accept it and prepare for more grinding, questing, loot gathering, etc. or you can chose to play a different genre of games. MMOs are all about you, as the player, to subscribe for content. One of the ways to show content is through motivating players through loot. Players want the loot to be better, which in turns pushes them through content. None of this is new and you already know it.

Sorry, MMOs continue to grow. . .always. There will always be new gear to obtain, more xp to gain, and more dungeons to do. If you dont like that and more of the completionist, then I'd suggest a single player game that doesn't ever get updated with new content after it's released

I'm not mocking you, but to me, it's like you're speaking in tongues here. Just goes to show how many different types of gamer there are.

I would ask, "What's the good of more XP if there's no more story?" I love story, and I want to see more of my characters and their companions growing and getting into things. I have that roleplayer/fangirl-type personality that makes me sit there, wondering, "What does my BH's mother think of her Mandalorian son-in-law? What would my Jugg do if someone kidnapped Vette?" I like leveling, too, but I'd gladly take a story-only expansion over a level-only expansion (not that I think the latter would ever happen in this game).

Also, I would like to actually finish Denova before the addition of new levels and gear make it a hollow achievement. But that's a separate issue purely related to how slowly I'm progressing in pve.

I guess my point here is that there will be no pleasing everyone.

It's the nature of the MMO beast. The more time you can keep a group of people preoccupied the more money you will receive from them in the long run.

Yes you will have 5-10 more levels to get.
Yes you will have to re-gear your characters.
Yes their will be more storylines, flashpoints, operations, companions, etc, etc.

Personally I am looking forward to the increased level cap. I have a feeling Bioware is going to make some really great changes to the game with their first expansion.

What?!?
When there's a level cap increase, everyone goes back to a level playing field.
Plus, how'd your level 60 gear that you only had a week become outdated? I highly doubt you got all of the bis(best in slot) gear in 1 week.
