Add'l comments: This isn't just lag spikes. The game delay is worse now. I'll have abilities that are oGCD (like interrupts) that will trigger my GCD. I'll use channel abilities and the ability won't activate or finish. The visual queue will finish, the sound will finish, but if I move too soon, the channel will not trigger the last part of the attack or a cast-time ability (such as activating my mount) will cause me to mount for a second, but then demount if I move too quickly.
So are we going to get an update with this. It's really annoying that it's still happening, and very frequent. Raid content is what keeps me going in an MMO and constant lag-spikes happening to EVERYONE in the operation at the same time is not the fault of an individual computer, it's the server. Is this going to be resolved because I can't justify paying for another month if the main content I want to play is choppy and laggy.

I know that there have been a lot of issues with game play, Frames Per second and Server lag...but this takes the cake. I played a bit this afternoon then I logged off for dinner. I just tried to get back on to play for a little more...totally not able to do that.

I have two characters on Ilum at the moment and neither one can play. Frames Per Second as shown by the little green numbers in the lower left corner of the screen fluctuated between 3.1 and 8.9. The Server lag appeared to be around 34-37 according to the minimap indicator. All the bars were solid for the server lag, I turned graphics to low (I should not have to do this with my system) and turned bloom off. I usually play in windowed mode, but then I tried full screen windowed mode... I did not see any improvement.

If this continues this way, I see no alternative than discontinuing my subscription. I do not feel it fair for me to pay for something I cannot play. I never had this problem with any other game I ever played...(the usual names I won't mention), but for some reason SWTOR just is not working out very well at this time.

I've done all I can with my system to the extent of paying for my technician to do a complete diagnostic to see if there is anything that is defective. I have a good video card w/current updated drivers, a new hard drive, good cooling, excellent ram, more than sufficient power supply; all of which are working as intended.

So I am having to step back until this game engine has been repaired so that I can play again. I truly enjoy this game and have played since early BETA with varying degrees of issues as most players have experienced. Many of them you all managed to fix although for the life of me, I cannot understand why the graphics are continual problem. That is the weakest point in this game.

I have noticed extreme amounts of lag as well. I have not been able to run a FP with out lag. Mostly during combat. The majority of the time it is server based as well.

I play with a few friends (we are all over the US, from East to West) on Steam and at the same moment we all go "LAG!" No way our ISP's all decided to burp at the exact same moment...15 times in a row. I also noticed this only occurs in certain zones, Black Hole, Illum (to a lesser extent) and FPs. Fleet of course is laggy.

Beyond the pile of bugs and glitches the server stability and lag is my biggest issue with this game.

Just wondering if the developers can give us an update on what's going on? it's messing with our raiding really bad.

They haven't responded so far after having people supply information. I've made a few more posts since then in General and I have seen others do it.

I have put in 2 trouble tickets complaining about it and mentioning how it's not just my computer that gets a lag spike, it's simultaneously happening to other players as they'll start talking in general chat about the lag spike that just happened.

What does BW CS do? They respond with, "Can you check your computer connections, blah blah blah?" They're not even reading my trouble tickets or they don't have an adequate pre-approved response blog to copy from. It is not my computer. If it was my computer, then I would complain about the lag and other people who are in the same Operation or Warzone with me wouldn't be able to validate the lag. But if I experience it, and everyone else in the operation or pvp (and not just my instance of it, but other people in other groups doing the same WZ map or Operation) experience it, then it's obviously not an individual's computer.

Simply put, if I feel the ground rumble underneath me, notice things fall off the walls, AND EVERYONE ELSE DOES in the local area, then the last thing I would expect officials to say would be, "Can you check and let us know what medications you were on that day?" I'm pretty sure they'd be smart enough to check the seismograph readings first...

Hey Guys,

Can I ask a few questions regarding your Global Cooldown issues,

Server name: Harbinger, Shadowlands
Times lag is apparent: All the time, *better* with less people but still existent and apparent
Is your UI customized: Yes, but same issues were present before 1.2 released
Have you ever experienced this issue: Yes, since beta
Additional comments on issue: Examples below:

NOTE 1: I mainly play a healer, but have noticed the same thing on channeled/casted abilities for damage.
NOTE 2: Latency is never an issue, I don't get "lag" very often at all unless I'm in a full fleet

EXAMPLE 1: Agent healing
-Activate Kolto Injection, cast timer may or may not start immediately. Often I feel like I wait 0.5-1 extra second before the cast bar starts [with normal latency]. Sometimes cast bar doesn't show up at all, but ability will go off after approximate cast time is done [and after me saying "crap please go off..." a few times].
-Activate Kolto Injection immediately after first: this is where the frustration begins. If I press the ability right as the cast timer ends, or just before, often nothing will happen (global cooldown is done), and sometimes the gcd will activate but the ability will not. Sometimes the *sound* of the heal starting up will play, with no animation, and no result, global cooldown activates. If I use a *different* ability (diag scan, etc), usually it will activate, but not always. The key is, even if the second ability goes off, there is still a short delay.
-For consecutive heals, it seems like, to be assured the cast starts, I *must* wait until the animation is finished (~0.5s-1s after the cast timer finishes, often more with ability lag), or sometimes jumping/moving slightly helps.
-When I refer to "ability lag", I refer to my character's arm sticking out in the Kolto Injection animation. The cast timer is finished, but the arm sticks out and Kolto Injection doesn't actually release until 0.5-1 after the cast timer is done. This is common. If I experience lag, this may increase.

EXAMPLE 2: Commando damage
-Fire Grav Round. Cast timer may or may not start immediately, sometimes waits 0.5-1s.
-Animation and damage only finish/show up 0.5-1s after cast timer is done.
-Attempts to activate another ability immediately after casting Grav Round, with gcd finished, often fail [same thing as in Example 1 above]. But hey, sometimes I get lucky. If I do an auto-attack afterwards, it seems to be fine, though, as with healing, there is still a short delay.
-In order to assure I can cast an ability immediately after Grav Round, I must either move/jump quickly to end the animation, or wait for the full animation to finish, which is often 0.5-1s after the cast timer is finished.

EXAMPLE 3: Orbital Strike
-Activate Orbital Strike. Mobs have not seen me, companion is passive next to me.
-Cast timer ends, group of mobs aggro immediately... before my ability even hits them (Orbital Strike has a few seconds of delay before the damage starts).
-This is likely not an ability lag, it's likely that the programming is such that mobs aggro once you are done casting an ability instead of aggro'ing after they take damage, which would make more sense...? If they saw me casting, why wait until I'm done? Ugh...

OVERALL:
-Combat is still very frustrating and annoying, especially since every solo encounter is groups of mobs. Ability delay/lag, along with the frustrations mentioned above, are why I have no fun questing and leveling, and why healing any flashpoint/raid is often frustrating.
-REMEMBER - everything that delays/lags abilities will *always* give the advantage to the npc a player is fighting. Is it any wonder why we are so annoyed with this? Especially since these precious seconds are desperately needed when our... "tank"... companions you designed get completely slaughtered by "strong" npc's very quickly.
-This persistent ability delay/lag, which has been present since beta, and which makes combat choppy, laggy, and annoying, is why I am no longer subscribed to the game. Patch 1.2 - "Legacy"... I mean... "Level Your Alts!" - why on earth would I want to level alts when the core gameplay issues that make combat so annoying and frustrating are still here? Getting 2 toons to lv50 exhausted my patience already...

I would firstly like to thank you all for bringing this to our attention and I assure you we will investigate the issue for you all.
-Thanks for investigating, I hope you find a solution.

Thank you for you patience.
-Already reached the end of mine, but best wishes to those who can tolerate the choppy combat.
