Thus, no matter what you wear, if you want the set bonus from the gear from 1.1 and before, you will need to wear that gear.

However, with the change in 1.2, you will be able to pull out the mods from the gear introduced in 1.2 and put them in any moddable gear, because the set bonus is tied to the mods. And now, with social gear being adaptive, you can pull those mods from the newest tier, put them in your social gear, and go raiding in your social gear with no problems whatsoever.

So no, adaptive gear isn't pointless.
1.2 gear was the Rakata set right?

I know this sounds silly but I have been waiting for this type of option since day one. for me the game is more RP and social than pvp and combat but not being able to have an appearance slot like so many other games is a last straw. in the scheme of things its a small straw but it was the last one. one patch after another BW seems to fall short and unfortunately its by inches IMHO not by yards. so for me, for now, I am cancelling. I had high'ish hopes with this patch but it just seemed to fall flat.

I will keep an eye on the game and see if things get better but for now, I am moving on.

cheers.

No. The Rakata sets are pre-1.2. Campaign and Black Hole sets are the new sets, with the Campaign gear sharing the same set bonus as Rakata, only now the bonus is attached to the armouring mod rather than with the armour shell like you have with the Rakata.

Thanks

Yeah, didn't really push end game pre 1.2, as I was trying to find the class that suits my playstyle.

Now that I found him, I'm pushing to gear quickly, but wanting to look unqiue (already got my outfit picked out).

Yes. An appearance type would be perfect. Wear the gear you want for appearance, while having another gear slotted as stats. It would make things so much simpler.

On top of that, they added the ability to add augments to any armor, so now crafted augmented gear is totally worthless. There is no need to wear it if you can get Recruit gear for free, or Tionese for very little effort and just add augments to it.

I like that they are adding content to the game, but these two features were not very well thought out.
Yes because being in recruit gear is optimal for doing good in warzones you're argument has no valid point whatsoever.

LOL over complicated money sink? First of all if you can't spend money to take out mods you are doing something wrong money in this game is a joke I have almost 24 million credits on my main and 5.7 million on my alt it's a joke. Second of all over complicated in what way? Having to actually move the mods and such to the piece of gear you want to wear? Or the fact that they don't get set bonuses if you use pre-1.2 gear? I love when people complain about something they have to work for when they ask for something implemented into the game. It's like asking for a raise at work when you sit on your lazy bum at work for 12 hours and get 2 hours of work done and then go ask the boss for a raise.

Could someone be nice and list what gear has set bonus tied to mods? Not everyone was here pre-1.2 or during.

Only campaign pieces (tokens drop from Nightmare Pilgrim and HM Explosive Conflict bosses) for PvE. Don't PvP so don't know about them.

Yeah I was kinda wondering about the PvP ones. So Campaign only I guess?
