The set bonuses are very substantial for some classes.

What you are doing is arguing in favor of something that very clearly works AGAINST the intended mechanic. The mechanic itself is fine, most of us will agree on that. Even BW's addition of new armor sets proves that the non-transferable armoring set bonus is outdated.

Neither am I arguing that dailies are "too hard". The problem is that looking good is the single most difficult thing in the game if you don't want to sacrifice substantial set bonuses and stats. Yes, it's harder and more tedious than the War Hero grind or the hardest operations to get Campaign Gear. Why? Because having either of those are prerequisites to being able to look how you choose.

Furthermore, why would anyone bring you to an operation if they could just take someone instead who doesn't gimp themselves on purpose? Your argument really doesn't make sense from any point of view.

You still can't transfer Battlemaster/Tionese/Columi/Rakata set bonuses in 1.3.

cop outs! lol

I tell ya, you need to use a lil elbow grease, that's what is wrong with these youngsters these days. You have to earn your appearance, and in the old days we actually wore what we appeared to wear! None of these fancy appearance tabs

Hmmm.....yes, when I dyed my cleric's plate to the exact shade of the Hate class armor, who could tell I wasn't wearing it? I mean, I HAD a full set of Hate armor, but by that point it was obsolete.....just such a pretty shade of purple. I enjoyed being able to have the LOOK of the Hate armor without losing the stats of the much better armor I'd gotten since I'd abandoned it. And in EQ2, they finally, finally gave us appearance tabs though never dyes. And my fury could wear something besides fricking green toned armor, because good grief, who decides that healer classes have to wear green? I HATE green. Way back in the good old days.

It's simple. One still has to get the armor one wants for the stats. You have to EARN IT. Then you have to get the armor you want for looks one way or the other, whether it goes on an appearance tab or not. You have to EARN IT. It doesn't just magically appear on your appearance tab, you still have to get it. How anyone can think that someone putting something they have EARNED in an appearance tab isn't a valid method of demonstrating their achievement is beyond me. In EQ2, when you examined someone you saw BOTH sets of gear. If you wanted to see what someone was using beyond their appearance, you looked. As it is, in this game you have no idea how someone has modded their gear, a level 50 in level 11 augmented drelliad smuggler gear can have full campaign. You have to EXAMINE THEM. So how, exactly, is an appearance tab any different? I fail to understand the logic. Because there IS no logic to it.

There's no good argument against appearance tabs. It's a favorite cause of the status quo police.

Because being able to augment existing orange gear doesnt change the fact that inquisitors get basically NONE goodlooking orange gear in the FIRST place?

Yeah I necroed, deal with it. The appearance issue is one of the two things that piss me off the most in this game.

You don't understand. My character is maxed out. I have tons of gear I like, but it's not strong enough. There are only about 4 modable pieces per class for WZ gear, and for my character there are only about 6 decent looking modable chest pieces. When you add in the fact that you can't change the color (only match) that causes a lot of problems.

I'm not too worried about this anymore though, I'm sure cosmetics will be a huge part of P2P!
