Indeed. It's a common tactic for all stores for any type of merchandise. Sell some nice things at a loss, in hopes the people who come in to buy it will buy more stuff to make up for it.

What about the decline of users that refuse to play because of how bioware handled the transfers by forcing users to change their identities?

They didn't force it. No one made them click 'transfer character' button. Sure the grass is greener on the more populated server, but it was still a choice and a gamble whether they kept their names.

It's only a matter of time before the servers we were on are completely removed entirely, so we can make way for the servers we are currently on, eventually it would of been forced.

gamble or not, the naming policy should of been dealt with before transfers were even introduced, it was and still is very flawed.

It was dealt with. They were quite clear on what would happen.

You are just speculating on what they do with the servers, so don't act like you know what they're planning.

This is absolutely false, especially when it comes to how they tally subs in Asia. I always chuckle at that silly "12 million" figure people love to throw around, when about 9 million of those subs were under a completely different sub model. Please do some research into how people in China and the surrounding areas access and pay for their "subs".

Your name is not your identity.

Except that is isn't on the restocking list, I had a friend check for me and after they sell through whatever they have left they won't be stocking it anymore.

As for my guess, EA will announce the subs are down again to between 1 million to 650,000. This is will be met by more rumors, layoff speculation and another round of Bioware laying off or watching another familiar face leaving the company.
Relabeling future patches as Expansions, just like EA Louse said a year ago. Who got the last laugh?

the purpose of a loss leader is getting people in though by offering an attractive product at a more attractive price, tor doesn't really fit that bill

I'm just saying that something should of been done about the naming policy before they introduced transfers, they can be fixed, not only would it benefit bioware, but it would put their subs back on the rise, I have a list of suggestions here
