It is too late, the damage caused by not having this at launch has already been done, although the lack of add-ons is the reason my wife quit, most of my guildies(we have 3 left out of 50+) quit due to the lack of LFG, these people will not be coming back, they gave SWtoR its chance, and SWtoR failed to keep them.

Maybe the next SW MMO will get it right.

Spamming general chat is not being social. Easier to be social if the players have an easier time finding each other to group up with each other.
How do you measure the success of an MMO?

People who make this argument sound silly because we're using the tool in order to play the game with other people. That makes it social by definition.

When you bring this point up, they respond that you should only group with your guild or your friends (the old "get a guild if you want to run flashpoints!" argument). So I'm anti-social for wanting to group with more people, more often than they do.

Their position isn't rational. It's like arguing with a Fox News viewer.

Yeah it's only going to be at all useful from like 6-2 latest, but I like to do instances at silly late times like 5am when possible and I like doing instances while leveling until I have everything for my class from an instance(unless it's like 2% drop rate) so single server isn't too big a help there, still a nice improvement though.

Eh after the next huge sub drop and dual spec is implemented they'll probably make it cross-server admitting the game is on it's last legs and then comes F2P.
Great and Powerful Trixie best pony.

You know why so many people act that way? Its because they can and in no way will it effect the way they can plpay the game.

X-server would just add even more. Just take WoW as an example. How many times in vanilla did you see this behavior compaired to after they release LFG? The community is like this now because of x-server LFG and LFG in general. Goto any game with LFG and it will be 100x worse than one that doesnt have it.
If this game is so great then why do so many people that love the game spend all their time in the forums?

Instead of a LFG tool you should be carving in LFG messages into stone and passing them around your tribal village, because having a computer is Lazy. Then you can sit in your cave and wait for an answer, unable to do anything else in life in case you missed a Rosetta Stone reply. Of course I realise you don't have a house because having all the advantages of a house is so damn lazy. Toilet? Lazy. Bed? Lazy. Electricity? Lazy. Sanitation? Lazy. Brain? Well I won't tell you because that would be Lazy of you.

When I buy a game I expect to spend at least 50% of my time looking for people to help me experience all the content that I am paying for. Having a tooltip annoyed me, having a social tab pissed me off. I didn't have to create a complicated and convoluded system of bodily movements to purvey my invitation to a party to other players, most absurd. Since when does the word 'play' and the words 'boring crap that I shouldn't be forced to do' not carry the same message?

Stop this LFG tool nonsense. IF my 1 month daily attempt at doing a lvl 50 flash point is finally successful with this new addition then I am unsubscribing. Only finding 3 party members after asking the guild, my list of friends, going to Belsavis, Ilum, Corellia, Fleet and asking people on each planet to do Battle of Ilum flash point is what I had in mind for my lvl 50 Trooper when I created him.

I got trolld.

You mean your guildies quit because there was no LFG when they could have grouped up together as a guild? Now since they will have a LFG they wont be comming back? Sounds to me that the reason they quit wasnt becasue of no LFG tool

My bet becasue they left is because this game fails as a MMO and isnt worth 15 a month to play.

Not in my experence. I been playing WoW sence before it was released. Played 6 months in closed beta. The community is no worse now than it was back then. Only big difference is nowdays I my ignore list is pretty long, so I seldom do runs with jerks anymore. And should I get one in a group..they are quickly added.
Trust is something which is earned.

I don't encounter rudeness very often in WoW groups. Maybe the problem is you?

Speaking as someone who used to be a hardcore gamer before RL issues made me reassess priorities, the LFG tool is perfect for me. I stopped playing back in January because getting folks to do content with was like pulling teeth. As someone with a full time job, a family to support, and a whole lot of studying to do in order to advance my career, spending time spamming general on the fleet was a wildly inefficient use of my time.

Being able to login and queue and do other things until the queue pops will be a godsend. And keeping it server only is even better. it'll encourage folks to be less jerk like, since reputation will still matter.
