Overall I'm enjoying it. It pretty much KotOR * MMO + Mass Effect 3 aspects. 3 great things that I really like.

and yes, Extremeists are looking for their next great high. it's like getting laid for the first time, and instead of moving on, your forever try to recreate that night...when you can't because she married and had 4 kids with joe down the street...but you continue to look for the next Fantasy girl. and nothing can compare to hindsight, because it's perfect.

Real people recognize that nothing (and No one) is perfect, and you really need to enjoy what you have (or get). this is aside from baseline standards of performance. And there's no reason to stop giving feedback.

On the flip side, let's not confuse frustrated and concerned people with the extremists. those that really like how a class or aspectof the game plays, and really don't think the changes are goign to improve it. that and you don't want to confuse the extremists with the FOTM players. how can you tell?

Extremists are never happy because their high is gone and they can't get it back. FotM players gripe because they're kewl OP build got nerfed, and after they gripe long enough, they state (to everyone) that they are quitting the class and it's all the dev's fault...then they go on to the next FotM.

Extremists are simply not happy with the game at all.Everything in the game is a personal insult, obviously specifically targeting them because it's so irritating to their personal life experience. And they are unable to even accept the notion that anyone can like "that" game without being a complete tool or so mindless that said tool is not worth talking too.
"I just hit 50 and finished my class storyline, but I still haven't been able to decide which AC to choose. Leveling solo as a warrior wasn't difficult, so I kept putting off the decision.
Anyone else having the same problem? "~ lagerhat - And who says warriors are broke?

Bioware gets ripped apart for making claims they can't back up. Don't overhype and there won't be a problem.

But it's much more profitable to oversell features to move units, then call your costumer base spoiled and entitled for believing your PR.

Which is what this entire thread is all about. Ironically, the OP is commenting on people who probably marginalized and dismissed the beneficial aspects of the game and focused on the negatives. not that I disagree with the OP, just pointing that out, and interested as to why you chose my thread to comment on.

And the OP marginalized and dismissed those who have legitimate concerns about the game. His blanket statement that "they did a pretty good job" is generalizing, and marginalizes those who have serious concerns about the game and their preferred classes. you can marginalize people without labeling them. It's the same results really, just harder to dismiss them when you don't have something to point a finger at like my terminology.

And I'm sure that those I marginalized by categorizing them as extremists think that they're perfectly fine and marginalize other people like me.

In all honestly, I tend to give just about everyone the benefit of the doubt. Each person is a unique individual. It's ironic that we categorize by nature. Yet we do.

And are you sure I "lost you?" did you really lose comprehension at that point, or did you just not agree with my compartmentalizing? i was really only partially serious...I thought the "laid" would give assertion to that, but perhaps it was incorrect timing on my part. Oh well. Take it as you will. perhaps I lost your support, instead of losing you mentally. you thought i had some good ideas, then saw the term "extremist" and said....oh, he's one of "those guys", who like to compartmentalize other people and think he's better then them. so you disregarded all my other points because you had judged that i was too judgmental.

Fair enough, I came off a bit glib as I did my horrible Jerry Mcguire reference =p
To me, "Extremeist" is such a loaded term...it really shouldn't be applied so casually. Yes, I agree the game has some great things, Its what keeps me posting on these forums and passionate about the game and it's community. But there are some definite shortcomings that should be pointed out.

I think Jade Empire is the best game BW did so far. They took a real risk wile they could have done KOTOR 2 instead, and make plenty of money just because it was KOTOR and a SW game. They make a very original universe, and an interesting gameplay. The game is awesome imo.

Since they are with EA, they turned ME into an action game from a RPG, and we will not talk about the ending backlash. They also did DAO2, the game with the same cave for every quest area. Soon, they will release C&C : generals 2, a RTS (something bw never done before), and also the sequel of a game with overall bad critics.
I won't talk about Mythic renamed in "Bioware".

I used to be a bioware fanboi. I lost my faith. I'm not a hater (yet ?), but not a fanboi anymore. I'm just really sad they will not release a high risk/low profit game anymore, like they did with jade empire, just for the love and passion of making a good game and story.

I have no qualms with SWTOR and only see they need to do some fixes on some combat issues I have seen. However I will never give Bioware themselves a break after how they have trashed the DA and ME series in the end. I think sometimes these companies have too many projects and not enough teams to go around to do them right. They all obviously have the cash flow. However they all seem to stretch themselves thin and the games suffer for it.
