Mass effect? 1 & 2 ill give you, and every part upto the last 15 mins of 3...

People are having unreasonable expectations for MMO's all over the place, not just SWTOR. A new game is not what people appear to be looking for, but rather some sort of second coming of Jesus.

No matter where you look, MMO's are being ripped apart even worse than a handful of years ago. Subscriber numbers are dwindling, even for the behemoth amongst MMO's the number has dropped from roughly 12 million to 'just' 10 million right now, and continues falling.

And yet, that hard core of gamers responds with surprise and disbelief to publishers deciding to more and more move away from their demands, and much rather place more and more focus towards the casual crowd .

BioWare doesn't need to be given a break, they're doing a good job, if you fall within their target audience. If for whatever reason however you feel things are made too easy, there's too much focus on pleasing the masses, you feel displeased with the thought of subscriptions possibly going away within a couple of years... then it doesn't matter whether you voice those opinions in SWTOR, or any other mmo or game in general as far as it matters; chances are big that you simply ought to come to realize that you and your views are ranked very low on the priority list of publishers.

tl;dr MMO's and gaming in general are going to change, but not in a way the vocal minority around gaming fora will be in favor off. If you feel you need to give BioWare a break over it, chances are big you'll just end up in disappointment.

Jade Empire was better than just good. How can you blame BioWare for the feelings of people. I can list off many games that were better than just good that didn't make a whole bunch of sales.

IMO I don't believe Bioware were in a position to make a Star Wars MMO (seeing they're already producing their own 'brand' in ME)... they've leant too heavily on the fantasy side of things as oposed to a more sci-fi side alienating Star Wars fans around the globe.
Saying your a BW fan AND a Star Wars fan are contradictions of the highest order... you know who are
Waiting for the definitive Star Wars sandbox mmo...

When Dragon Age 2 was, well Dragon Age 2, I gave them a break.

When I played the ending of Mass Effect 3, well, it hasn't seen the inside of my console again, but at least I didn't attempt the rage refund that some people managed.

This is the only BioWare title I play (and is definitely the last one I'll purchase.) If they want my sub to stay active, they need to stop needing a break. It seems like they're addicted to making stupid decisions.

Don't froget the mess that was Dragon Age 2.. I never understood why in DAO the Darkspawn were brown. Yet in DA2 they were blue.

BW hasn't let me down. They have been an outstanding dev house. Not sure what will happen now that EA is at the controls, but BW has been an extremely positive force in gaming. SWTOR is no exception.

Don't get me wrong, like any company, they have had their ups and downs relative to their products. Some are more popular than others, but generally, their focus on story and the gameplay and interaction within that story continues to be a driving force. Perhaps with some diminishing returns as some people seemingly want unlimited branching and interaction which is of course not possible. But that is the bar BW set and they have tried to live up to it.

Yea, they get a break from me. They deserve it.

I agree. I have been pretty bad this week. Will just play and shut my piehole. these guys are doing a great job and have been giving us cool stuff to play with. I think sometimes you can get caught up in the negative as we are humans we tend to exaggerate to much for no reason.

I'm out of here back to the game and my new alt the BH which is freakin fun to play.

That's easy to say in hindsight but if YOU were the one having to make the decisions would you really be any better?
