6 months later and they are on the way to making a great game, but its already too late. The bad reputation has already been earned, people have spread stories about how bad the game WAS. This is the same reason other MMOs like Warhammer and Rift have died. People quit due to launch issues and tell all of their friends how bad the game is, and that everyone is quitting. No one wants to play a broken and dead game.

If they want this game to go anywhere they need to fix all of the performance issues and release an expansion along with mass advertisement stating that the game has been improved and many features missing at launch have been added.
While I may disagree with it being too late, I think you are spot on with an ad campaign that depicts how and why its design vision is back on track.

I keep thinking of the movie 'American President' where the president remains silent while his publicly vocal and vitriolic election opponent fabricates stuff and uses the mass media to smear him. The president doesn't respond because "They're just trying to get us to swing at pitches in the dirt. Nobody wins these." All the while his popularity ratings and political support structures are tanking. That is until the last 15 minutes of the movie where he comes right out in front of the international media, loads both barrels and sets the record straight. I'm waiting for Bioware to step up to the dias and do just that.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

It's also not always 'the others' that's the problem. Trolls exists on both sides of the fence - and as we can see in just this thread alone - will be rather hostile in their rhetoric against each other. For or against the game.
Very well said. Sometimes a player will like a feature in another game and feels TOR should have it also. Does not mean they are trying beat TOR down to fail. It could mean they would like to see that feature added to help them enjoy TOR more. And yeah..they will defend what they think is a good feature against those who ether post false info or refute what you say. Personally, I can afford to play more then one MMO each month and I want TOR to succeed.

And in reference to another post on here....I donot continue to play WoW because I want to dominate anyone. I continue to play because I have fun. And the changes I would like to see TOR have...are nothing to do with wanting to dominate anyone..but for the same reasons..to have fun.

A much bigger problem (or distraction from a constructive discussion if you will) is those who scream that anything other than blind devotion to developers and the current state of the game is a "rant", or "vitriol". In all MMO forums I have participated in I have always found the "whiners about the whiners" much more of a distraction that the actual "whiners" themselves which usually at least have some valid criticism at the core of their posts.

I think I can understand it as a defensive measure. Many people throw a great deal of time and emotion into an MMO often building a large friend list. I don't thinks these folks bounce from title to title, or at least play mostly on their 'main' game and sample the others.

Now, if your game world is invested completely in a MMO like WoW would you want to see it diminish or disappear to SWTOR? They would lose friends, character prestige, bragging rights, and be forced to start over.

People are always afraid of change.

Personally I give them equal grades.

The only people who can post here are subscribers. If they're griping it's because they're playing the game.

I've had invitation-only conference fees, hotel, travel and perdium completely sponsored & paid in full to draw potential suitors away from specific booths and demonstrations. The careless ones make it obvious.

TOR is really no large threat to WOW. Sure..they lost some subs to TOR when it was first released , but the game is in no position now to be a threat. I have no concerns about that whatsover. I serously donot think that is a factor with most of the complainers about TOR. I will defend the truth against untruth remarks about TOR or WOW. I know your post was not against anyone personally..but I want to point out I mainly want both games to do well and be profitable because I want to enjoy both.

Says who, i know people who have bought games just because there mates have, they didnt care about the game they just cared about not being left behind, you see them now with "I came here with all my mates but they have gone so the game is bad", How does that make the game bad in any way, being a sheep does not make the game bad, it just means your mates didnt like it and you dont have your own mind. You can look through the forums and see them everywhere, they dont have there own thoughts they just take what there mates say and put that as there take of mind even if they liked the game enough to carry on playing after they had started to go.

Seriously how hard is it to find a new guild ?

There are people who post here who purchased 6 or 12 month subs at some point who actually do not play anymore. I welcome their criticism, though. If they have given the box price plus that much sub money to Bioware, why not listen to what they have to say?

The weak minded will actually pretend criticism doesn't exist or try to silence it by using bogus post reporting, tantrum posts, or by insisting that only those who currently log in and play be allowed to post, but they are cowards and weaklings.
