They are easy to spot actually. The real problem is smoking them out because they will scream 1st ammendment rights, throw up the fanboy rant, then log into another name from another IP and continue their vitriol. Or maybe they get help. It's like watching a youtube of someone getting gang punked on the street. Other punks jump in to get some and score points until the target is unconscious or worse. Would love to go 'Without Remorse' on them but alas, all we can do is have thick skin and hope they get caught.
Can we please just have our pre-KotFE SWTOR MMORPG back?

And then we have the merry-go-round of defenders vs. dislikers.

Nothing sinister in it despite what some will claim.
What possesses someone to go way out of their way to crusade against a video game on the video game's home forum?

If dialling the rhetoric back down a bit because people sharing a dislike does not automate 'crusade' and 'out of their way'.;
Then of course expressing your dislike of a game on that game's site is just as logical as expressing your like of the game in the same place.
It's where people go to read about the game. It shouldn't be hard to understand at all.

What it often turns into however is those who like it, dislike others disliking it and vice versa. The people who like the game are just as guilty for the arms-race as 'the evil' on the other side.

On the forums i could understand where your coming from for people who still play BUT people who have said 'i quit and ive uninstalled' i just think are more upset and lashing out. But for the articles comments you do have to wonder, for people who do not care they sure do care alot to post on every single article.

The "I quit" people obviously cared enough about the game to buy it and play it. Them complaining is often just a product of hoping the game will 'change' to something they'll enjoy more. It's also why people like me hang around despite my sub is running out in a month or two, and I can't find much desire to log into the game despite doing Black Hole weekly.

The article comments can easily be the same thing; but often just a product of 'defenders' vs. 'dislikers' and the battle between the two.
It's also not always 'the others' that's the problem. Trolls exists on both sides of the fence - and as we can see in just this thread alone - will be rather hostile in their rhetoric against each other. For or against the game.

Its also simply a way of expressing disappointment and a feeling if being let down.

We all get excited over new games...some obsess about them.

When the reality does not live up to the expectations they get rightfully upset.

Some deal with it by quietly leaving while some lash out as cathartic measures.

Why would anyone believe something told in official forums? I mean, I cant take gaming forums serious even if God himself speaks there.

Bioware gave the game a bad rep by rushing the release and missing so many key features of a modern MMO. Not to mention the terrible performance that is STILL plaguing the game.

6 months later and they are on the way to making a great game, but its already too late. The bad reputation has already been earned, people have spread stories about how bad the game WAS. This is the same reason other MMOs like Warhammer and Rift have died. People quit due to launch issues and tell all of their friends how bad the game is, and that everyone is quitting. No one wants to play a broken and dead game.

If they want this game to go anywhere they need to fix all of the performance issues and release an expansion along with mass advertisement stating that the game has been improved and many features missing at launch have been added.

That's too easy and I wish I could believe it. Not that my opinion matters in the grand scheme of things, but where exception is taken is when the same people spam nothing but venomous disdain over and over again through multiple threads, then become even more vigilant (even defensive) when challenged. That indicates their efforts have less to do with valuable input and more to do with directed agenda. People who really care won't try burning the house down ... arsonists do that.
