Overleveling

If you are over levelling your class quest...don't pick up other quests...

This works out perfectly for me and alts, because I have only completed about 25% of the world quests and side quests. Sometimes I have skipped every quest on a planet and only followed my class story quest.

This is because I'm always queued for WZ and I'm doing space missions on the side and FPs when I can. The next time I create another character I can do the quests I haven't picked up before.

If you do every quest in your path AND you WZ regularly, run FPs and Space Missions you will outlevel everything... more so with the legacy perks from 1.3 coming up, and I'm liking it.

Worst, rested XP being granted everywhere makes you overlevel even faster.

In my opinion, this is not an incentive to PLAY but rather to NOT PLAY. There isn't much challenge at some point and the rewards you get are beneath your necessity.

If you don't like to overlevel like me then all you can do is skip content. Want to try a space mission? one less world quest. Want to try a warzone? two less world quests for you...

Does anybody feel the same? If so, how are you handling with this? Would you like to see a preferences option to turn off rested XP or even tune down the amount of XP you get?
QFT. XP should be cut in half, across the board. The first characters my brother and I leveled in this game (Imperials) were about 5 levels above Balmarra and 7 levels above Nar Shadda and it only got worse from there. Way, way too much XP given out in this game. I am sure it's intentionally done so as to make you go back and level several characters to see all the content.

Honsestly when i get to the thrid or fourth planet i usually do some PVP, my class quests, and the planet quest chain (long chain of quests to help war on planet but also has a nice storyline to it) so i get all the bits and peices of fun in there of all the content (including Flashpoints) and i also do some side quests i find for extra creds and EXP

The only way to be level 35 on Nar Shaddaa is to leave, run a couple of other planets, then go back. I know I went back at level 33 to finish up a few heroics I'd skipped too, but you didn't simply level to 35 just from Ord, Coruscant, and Nar Shaddaa. And I don't know exactly how much challenge you expected to find coming back to a low level planet after probably completing all of Chapter 1.
call it hogwash all you want i have a commando who is presently 45 and is just now making it to nar shaddah i really only pvp in this game and sometimes do the class quest when i want another companion to assist with dabbling in crafting. this is very possible, and my preferred way of doing things.

as far as /xp off command that would break 1-49 pvp since it is feasibly possible to then have a crap ton of expertise at lvl 49 given enough comms for gear. if i had unlimited time as a 49 before i hit 50 i could purchase copies of the lvl 48 weapon and remove the mod/enh with expertise in it and add it to all of my other gear. while this would be expensive it wouldnt be all that hard to achieve since i would never have to worry about lvling to 50.

luckily you still have to be level 50 to purchase the battlemaster/warhero gear otherwise this would also be a reason not to implement this feature.

All the pvpers overlevel and want to quickly level to reach their goal, mainly pvp. The New trend is doing pvp/class missions. Ignoring everything else.

Wait a second.... So basically there is TOO MUCH levelling content, and you are complaining about it ?

It's a good thing!
You are not your rig specs. You are not your K/D ratio. You are not your character level. You are not your sig.

You do realize that many of the quests from Belsavas on up are over-con quests. The level may say 'X' but you routinely run into mobs that are 'X+1'. And the mobs' AI is way smarter AND there are more silver and Gold Elites per quest than prior to Belsava. You pretty much need to be at or over level for these planets.

I have never had a problem being underlevel ( not that this thread is about this but many complain that they are) and I ONLY do Story, Planet story, Planet Bonus as I level. I don't PvP, FPs, etc. I pretty much solo the whole time and I am still 2-3 levels above a planet.

The first time thru to 50 I really needed this. The second, third, fourth, etc. Not so much until I hit belsavas and above. The reason may be that I am more comfortable with the game below that point than I am above. But, I must say that Belsavas was the planet that forced me to L2P and not just button mash (a la WoW leveling).

Something to think about:

1. This game may be too easy for you.

2. You may be THAT good.

3. If this is the case, if you "balance" the game for players like you, it will become unplayable for others.

4. Be happy that you have "mad skillz" and let others have fun too.

I always seem to be 1 level underleveled and I wish the quests gave more xp.

When this happened to my sage I just turned off all quests but the class quests and skipped every mob I could.

In very short order I was 2 planets later, and was in a more appropriate level range. Of course, I wasn't THIRTEEN LEVELS higher than content, but my point still stands. If you skip mobs and focus on class quests you can catch up very easily.

The only things I "missed" doing this were side quests, heroics and bonus quests -- almost all of which I had already experienced on another alt.

If you're still roflstomping baddies and it's bothering you, remove your armor and fight in your skivvies. Or dismiss your companion and fight completely solo.

Personally, I like the leveling system the way it is.

Maybe have a toggle option to turn off XP in the settings. That way u can be a completionist without overlevelling.

As it stands, completionists tend to get way overleved past content.
