Ten million plus subs is still feasible...(only have one shot though bioware)

I think people seriously overestimate the lure of the space combat if they think 10.000.000 subs or more is possible with that alone. So while it could be fun / interesting; I think controlling expectations is a good first step. Remember when space was announced first.
Not sure the cost/benefit is there to be frank when the game wasn't build up that way to begin with.

Otherwise, I think some developers are very interested in seeing the business case to back it up with

Id say 20 million subs would not be out of the question...(it would take a perfect space launch on a scale we have never seen...but possible). Discuss? Do you agree or disagree with me? What would you like to see in the Space launch....(while the missions are fun....thats not really space. thats space commendation grinding material).

P.S. However space is all or nothing. if Bioware fails space. this will stay a million to 750 sub mmo. only populated by us star wars nuts....
You seem to be forgetting the most important one to have not only tried but completely hit a home run with their space game. Star Wars: Galaxies. SWG had the best space game that I have ever played. The sheer volume of space that you could fly around in was amazing. Not to mention there was space pvp and epic multi player battles, multi player ships, completely customizable ships all the way down to the paint on the ship. Decorative interiors on some of the bigger ships. No game can beat what they had (yet... SW:TOR may suprise us in the future). So don't leave SWG out of this topic.

This game has already reached its peak and it will never grow past that point. At this point its a steady decline into obscurity, though I have no doubt the population will hold at a certain point for awhile.

This game has no chance of hitting even 2 million subs, let alone 10 million. Zero chance, no matter how good of a job they do. There is SUCH a bad taste in the mouth of a lot of players now, and first impressions matter a lot in the MMO genre.

Not to mention that there are a whole slew of actually innovative and new games coming out very soon:

Elder Scrolls Online, The Secret World, Marvel Heroes, Arch Age, Blizzard's 'Titan', Planetside 2, Everquest Next, Wildstar, etc..

Not to mention the biggest release of them all... Guild Wars 2

There is just simply no where for SWTOR to go but down, its already lost hundreds of thousands of subscribers, and I bet the next investors call will be no better, and the one after that FAR FAR worse as GW2 and other games will be released during that time.

SWTORs chance is over.
wait did you just say Guild Wars 2 is the biggest release of them all??

Sorry but this game will never hit 10m subs. 2m at most. There are 22m MMORPG players, and only 10% of them actually play Sci-Fi. This is my first Sci-fi I've stuck with, I've always purposely chose fantasy, as do the other 90%.

I also like how the games he lists as being "innovative" aren't...

like Planetside 2... they have flat out said it's nothing more than a rehash of the original with updated graphics

TES online? they removed everything that made TES a sandbox and are using standard MMO format...

apparently everyone's attention span and memory is so short now a days all you have to do to be "innovative" is copy something that was done more than 5 years ago...

I'm gonna re-release PONG with high def graphics and call it "innovative" and "revolutionary" since people seem to think that's what those words mean
"bibo ergo sum" ( I drink, therefore I am)

Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other people to shoot at.
