Better far over leveled than being 3 levels above content, and still seeing a silver, and 2 regulars take nearly half your health.

nonsense,
reroll a alt to 50 is already too long,
current XP is too few for a high level alt,
endgame raid need different roles,
so we really need is to let 50 player to roll alt to lv50 in ONE day,
re-leveling is a pain.
English is not my first language, still working on it.

So you can stop getting xp when you want and the other people who don't care being "overlevel" continue business as usual. No harms done and a simple and nice addition to immerssion for those who likes it like that.
Eh... there is a huge debate over that topic, because people would just stop at level 49 and have the most of their abilities to just have an advantage over all the rest in PVP.

Haven't you noticed you get rested XP whenever you log off no matter which place?

Don't see it happening. People would use it to sit in under 49 PvP and it would risk fracturing the playerbase and the game as a result.

First charachter I was overlevelled because I did a shermans march to the sea took my time and explored everything. My PT just hit level 47 as he entered correllia his 47-50 planet. he was levelled doing the primary quests(Planet+class with a smattering of sides per planet) space dailies and PvP dailies. Only did all the side quests on Voss because he needed to to hit 47 to finish corellia.

I'ld say their experience system is toned just about right. Depending on how you play you can be overlevelled or even underlevelled to content and you as the player have an immense amount of control in this position. this occurs because the key experience is the quest reward not MOB farming. Do lots of quests you'll be overlevelled. Do a few quests with a large side of PvP and smaller side of space dailies you'll be on target. The great thing is there are plenty of options to get back on target easily if you end up underlevelled or if overlevelled you cand ecide to bypass some content or not and hit 50.

I agree with OP, thats why Ive been advocating for an exp reduction character perk for months.

I skip nothing while leveling, I do every quest, herioc, fp, and space mission atleast once. I queue for WZ while nort grouped. By the time I leave Coruscant I am 8 levels above content, every quest from that point on will be gray to me since I only continue to further the gap as I level. When my Sage hit 50, I was half way through Quesh.

I think it can be more of an issue if you tend to group a lot, though I have partied with higher level players to run FPs and didn't mind that it made the content easier - I can always run it again (and usually do) as I desire. Personally, in every game I have ever played, I always tend to try to "overlevel" the content I am currently playing by a few levels as I mainly play areas solo first to play my own way and get a feel for it. I prefer creating my own challenge when playing a game and there are other ways I can "gimp" myself to make content harder.

Why not let players level how they see fit?
I personally will grind out a few levels, and space dailies to be over levelled so I can skip side quests and so forth on higher level planets.
That's the problem I have with it as well, considering my desire to overlevel to begin with. When I started playing GW1, it put me off a bit once I stopped getting XP from mobs I had outleveled, but I always got the max rewards for quests regardless of level, and eventually came to like the system they implemented. I would like to see the same thing here as well - I think diminishing XP for mobs is fine, but missions and quests should always reward the max XP and Credits - or at least raise the cap to 7-8 levels over that of the quest/mission.

IMO they really need to move the space mission stuff, in particular, to it's own leveling/progression system. On my first character I played it extensively, which made me seriously overleveled for the normal content, which just isn't fun. IMO it doesn't really make sense that flying my ship around well makes me better at shooting things with my gun/hitting things with my lightsaber.

My subsequent characters I've been forced to avoid it like the plague. (and even though I do barely any heroic stuff, I'm still overleveled for the content just through normal questing).

Yeah, give us instant alts FFS. Seriously, no, don't be so lazy, it's easy enough to level up to 50 already.
